Hi Guys,

ive been out of the game for a bit, been a BH since the start, i come back to find that there arent as many variants for weapon damage anymore among many other things. So, i've been reading and found that energy 8100+ with 75% AB slice is best for hunting jedi, but what about the average NPC mark? What are they usually dealing these days, kinetic?

also, this may sound real stupid, but what the heck happened to the /examine giving us the effectiveness/weakness of our enemy? did the command change or was that feature dropped?

I just use an old set of composite to hunt NPC marks, it works fairly well.

As for the examine thing, they took that out when they took out AP, etc, etc in the CU.

Common sense would dictate to use some recon armor, as most marks use ranged energy attacks. Personally, I go along with my composite armor as well, but its more being too lazy to change armor often. Unless you end up with a bossmark, it doesn´t really matter anyway.

is there a way to determine what kind of damage they are dealing?

Some where buried amongst the options is an ability to make the combat log more detailed and then after they hit you, it will be logged what kind of damage they did in the combat tab. Worth looking at during a mission.

I would say only about 10-15% of my NPC bounties (about 500 or so) have used a kinetic weapon.

I use ubese armor 7K energy and I do fine even when they use kinetic thanks to CM4000 and the heals it give me.

I use ubese with over 7k energy resists and a psg with about 2300 energy resists. Not breaking the bank on either and I had a 36k health boss hit me for 16 pts. a shot last night without duelist running. If they use kinetic, it hurts more, but it's nothingI can't heal out of. Haven't been incapped on a single mark since my first boss the day the revamp went live (wasn't prepared).

The bolts they shoot at you are damage colour coded. =)

So the most common is red=energy

Go in with some balanced Assault Armor. By balanced I mean the Primus layered ( I think that's the layers) - the ones that give your a little over 7k Kinetic resists and about 5k Energy Resists. Then equip a PSG with around 2k Energy resists. This is the best overall protection you can gain against the NPC marks. If you go with Recon then you'll wind up with lowered Kinetic Resists as their's no secondary armor type to resist that. Just make sure to stay outside of melee range.
