Thread: Master BH/Ranger
i'm sure anything is possible.
suggestion 1. drop master ranger, and get another ranged prof, with cm 4xxx. i'm sure you don't want to do this, other wise you wouldn't have posted here.
suggestion 2. wear your master ranger tag, walk up to your mark, announce that you are there to collect his bounty. when he falls out of his chair, roflao irl, quickly dispatch him.
suggestion 3. you are going to have to catch a jedithat is way faroff guard to finish him, which sounds pretty hard. as i understand it, most jedi are borderline paranoids who are suspicious of any dot near their location. stalk them untill they are afk, or incapped, and slip a db in.
suggestion 4. with those 2 professions, you have just enough skill points to get novice medic, along with which you should get some healing efficiency clothing. that won't be much help when a jedi gets you in range, but i suppose it couldn't hurt.
suggestion5.root the mark when they are inclose to a lair, and use traps to root the mobs right next to him.

ps: i'm not a bounty hunter or a ranger, i just would like to play this temp sometime too.
I've lost every match I've fought one on one, and that includes most pvp. I think I've won maybe 3 times in pvp against even non Jedi. If they're doctors or medics of any kind, you'll most likely lose because you'll fill up on bliels. I've got great armor, pretty great weapons, good foods, good stims, etc, but I can't win. It just isn't possible with my MRanger's low accuracy, defenses, etc.
If you want to do it for role playing reasons or PvE reasons, I'd recommend it, sure. But not for hunting Jedi. I've killed 2 Jedi, for the record, out of about 14 marks. One was in the cloner, the other I stalked around the village during phase 4 until he was at 25% health and taking on 8 Sith at once. Kd'd and healed myself as he was incapped and the sith ran to me, while I /db'd him. You will most likely only win against a Jedi via Luck. I've lost to lvl 65 tkm/padawans, albeit the match took 10 minutes of kiting and he was using a rifle, but nonetheless, it's rather fruitless.
Just my two creds, since I'm one of the few occasional Ranger posters around here.

Are you a Ranger first, or a bounty hunter? Me, I'm a Ranger. BH is a great combat prof to supplement Ranger, and there's no creature I can't take down solo. But that's all BH is to me-- my combat prof. As a Ranger, BH content is pretty well inaccessible to me (as is just about any non-creature content).
If you're a Ranger first... give up the notion of killing jedi. If you're a BH first, drop ranger and take up something else. You can always RP the ranger lifestyle without actually having the tag. Trying to do the opposite will only get you killed.

Jedi will eat you up and spit you out with that template but its good for creature only hunting if thats what you really want to do.
