Thread: Killing a MDef

I had a mission target that I tracked and engaged. About a min later, he went AFK. He was running a macro that was setting Force Infusion and Aura ever few seconds. While I could damage him, he could alway regen it before my next shot......


I am MBM/MRifles.....I sat there for about 30 minutes trying different weapons, specials and attacks. I could not dent him....


What is that solution? What could I have done different? I am trying to learn something and become a better BH.

He is just smart jedi in respect to his template. Recently the defenders I've been facing have been trying to kill me. However, when they know they cannot win, it's a chase. If I cannot kill them, they run and I'm left chasing them for 30 minutes.


I have the best pistol (triple-capped) FWG5 and throw poisons and fires, however still its so damn hard. I'm really starting to hate all jedi that have FR, however, that is basically 100% of the jedi population.

way to do this with mrifles is observe his template. right when his aura is about to reset, hit startle shot. it'll prevent him from using it, meaning you'll do more damage. also do this for infusion...just have to pay attention to his macro.

try using deuterium pyro drink with ranged accuracy of over 200 /halo

To kill MDefs, You need to beable to drain them etc... And also Use everything to your advantage that you can properly.

Hmm, isn't that part of the issue though? Which template is contributing to Jedi kill, theBH or the CM?


I think Bounty Hunters are suppose to be "ranged" combatants (medium ranged to be exact). The issueI seeright now is that stacking a ranged template on top of your BH template (increasing your Accuracy, speed and defenses) is not significant enough to offset the increased advantages of picking up healing (which has less accuracy, speed and defenses).


Seems to me that these need to be balanced better. The benifits to having more accuracy, speed and defenses should be increased to match the benifits of being able to heal.


I would think that this could be accomplished without even adjusting anything with respect any of the professions, but rather the affects that increased Accuracy has on Damage output and the affects that increased Defenses has on Damage reduction.



Those are just my thoughts.

Yes but BH is suppose to be a "tank" in the CU. Which means you're actually stacking defensives with offensives..or so the devs say. We're much farther off from the "weaponsmaster" template we once were at release. I, for one, miss switching weapons on the fly in order to lay downs ome serious punishment.

Oh, I absolutly agree there. But I think the first step needs to get the Preferred template fora Bounty Hunter to be focused around Pistoleer, Carbineer, or Rifleman and not Combat Medic. To do this, I think they need to adjust the impact that havinggreater accuracy has to be equal to the benifits that healing has.


But that is a seperate issue.
