ok loot drops have been crap lately, Many reports have it that loot is just highly random.

I don't know about that.. pre pub 22 I was getting at least 2 drops per mark (non leet) lots of intraframes, toolkits, ca's aa's bugs & fungus. since 22 I've been getting crap (I'm even one of those reported few who looted a single mellon off a high CL mark)

now ALLI get is toolkits, one at a time, no multi drops anymore.

ok random is fine, but (like it hasn't been asked a million times) where is the reward for harder work? I'm CL 73, I was getting better drops off of cl68's then I now get from a CL78? WTH is up with that?

why do I hunt for a half an hour on Dath for a much tougher mob just to get a lame little toolkit and 600 creds from loot? over and over..

I am beginning to feel that the devs are just using us as economic tools, giving combat classes high value items that they can't use and make them decide weather to spend valuable time trading, auctioning or simply putting them up for sale for 20k and under on the bazzar so they can get back to the already time consuming trask of being a BH... Thats BH not merchant.

I for one don't want to be the instrument to create stability and reduce inflation in the player based economy by forcing us to flood the market with trinkets we cant use, MEANWHILE cl 40-60 (NON-BH) toons are running around in full sets of BH armor (that they cant even manage), that they looted off black suns in one sessionon yavin 4.

another thing ive noticed is seekers are working poorly now, I can understand the shift in time from inv3 & inv 4 that it takes for a seeker to lock a target for tracking, but whats up with trackers failing to track?? or this crud about loosing tgt if you stop moving for 5 seconds, come on.. tracking is sposed to be EASIER with completion of a box.. not more time conusming AND less reliable.. come on!

/rant off

Try picking missions that are 78 and 79 difficulty or maybe even 77. I've tested this and it appears to be concrete and valid. Better loot comes from killing marks that are lower in difficulty. I did 20 missions of high difficulty and didn't get squat. I then did5 missions that were two levels lower and got 2 CA's, a HC Scatter Pistol, 2 clear crystals, and a few mando frames.

Try it.

Keep hunting. They are random. I do nothing but 31k missions. Two nights ago I raked in the loot. Last night was a bit of an off night. It happens. Just a bad run for you, I would assume. Same with the number of boss marks that you get. Two nights ago, all but one of my marks was a boss. Last night, only one of my marks was a boss. Every time I loot a boss, I get at least two pieces of loot, if not three.

I dunno... I looted +15/+11 (if I remember the second number correctly) tape off of a double elite 30k+ health boss last night. He was also carrying a slicing component. The first mark was a standard elite. He had bugs...

On the law of averages, I do 12 BH marks, 3 - 4 of em got good loot. The rest either smuggler components or jars of yummy foraged bugs. My meaning of good loot varies from a clear crystal, AA or CA, or BH armor schematic.

Would defeat the purpose of the game if everybody loots +12 two-handed saber speed, or +11 weapon assembly CAs all the time rite?

so flooding the market with smuggler gack is better?, Im not asking for uberz lewtz every time, but toolkits or bugs10-20 times in a row is just as lame as the other extreme.

if they could just get the ballance a bit better or mix up the low end loot for some damn varity, what value is one toolkit out of the hundreds flooding the market since the new loot came in?

heres the break down

common: 80%

Finely crafted tooolkits

Fungus

Bugs

Trando Intraframes

uncommon 15%

AA

CA

Trigger Assembly

Mando Interframes

Bio engineer poster

Rare 5%

BH Schem

Core Booster

LS CA's

mellon (just cos I got one)

this is not counting the fact that quantity has fallen, from 2-3 items per mark on day 1 to 1 per markcurrently

They do seem to be very random, last night i had 4 marks in a row drop an Sea each, then the next 3 were just smuggler items, then i went to bed.

i got 6 BH armor schematics and 2 CAs in 15 marks (the 6 BH armor schemes came in the first 8 marks.) so it is random. and it is way higher then the drop rate of any other non-fixed spawn in this game. how can anyone complain about this? i made around 200 million creditsin a week without selling one of my 29 lots of weapon components.

I would say it's a pretty reasonable level for smuggler parts (I find the bugs and fungus to be a tad insulting tho).

if they could just get the ballance a bit better or mix up the low end loot for some damn varity, what value is one toolkit out of the hundreds flooding the market since the new loot came in?

They shouldn't be super valuable. They are required components for smugglers to do one of the few things they can. The market NEEDED to be flooded with them to get things to a reasonable price range.

If they increased the number of drops for what you consider good stuff, the values on it would plummet too. Welcome to economics...

heres the break down (maybe for you)

common: 80%

Finely crafted tooolkits (haven't looted one of these yet)

Fungus

Bugs

Trando Intraframes (none of these either)

uncommon 15%

AA (found all of one of these buggers)

CA (picked-up about 5 of these so far)

Trigger Assembly (gotten tons of these)

Mando Interframes (gotten more of these than I have trigger assemblies)

Bio engineer poster (none of these for me - not that I'm complaining)

Rare 5%

BH Schem (I'm only missing the right arm pieces, the belt, and the gloves)

Core Booster (I get this part more than any of the others, except the mando frames - about 1 out of every 4 drops)

LS CA's (haven't looted any of these yet, but I don't think they are any more 'rare' than any other specific type of CA)

mellon (just cos I got one)

this is not counting the fact that quantity has fallen, from 2-3 items per mark on day 1 to 1 per markcurrently

Now, I don't grind these things like there's no tomorrow - only about 5-10 per day, but from my experience, the drops are just what they claim to be - random.

I got some double +25's that would crack you up , i keep just for the guild to laugh at every now and then.
