Thread: Pretty Funny jedi hunt
...Paired up with a friend, and we're both MBH, looking for a Jedi, online, who we can hunt. He finds the mark 210k, and heads out to get the biological info and send the probe droid while I continue to search for the mark.
I find it a couple of minutes later, and am on the way to the starport when I get a tell.
"Hey, can you slice 4 locked containers for me ? " I am asked. I am puzzled for a minute, but realize that I have my Master Smuggler title up. I look twice at the name, and can you believe it ? It's MY MARK, asking me to slice for him.
"Sure," I respond, "just meet me at the Bestine bank because I need to get some laser knives and clamps,"
I send tells to my partner, and we agree the bank works, because in a panic he wont know where to run, and it's open, and we'd have a long, and good chance to take him down. So, I proceed to go to the bank, get my slicing materials, and wait for my mark to come to me. Hunting's great, isnt it ? My mark arrives, and I engage him in small talk as my partner closes in on him. At this point, I make a decision, and share it with my partner. I'm not going to fire on him, unless I absolutely have to do so, after all, I am smuggling. However, it wasnt even needed, I dont think he realized he was attacked, and after a very short chase towards the starport my partner incap, and killed him. 105k for doing some slicing, sweet !
I finish the slices, meet the "former" mark, and give him his containers back. He tries to tip me, but I tip it back and tell him not to worry about it, I've already been paid. He asks what I mean, and he is ANGRY about having been killed. So, I asked him, would he really like to know how he was taken ? He says yes, and I owned up to it, I told him he was my mark as well.
Now I have no idea about what the odds are of that happening, but it was one of the most laughable things I've ever had happen in game, and I'm hoping that the un-named jedi will eventually cool off, and see the humor in it.

Thats sweet. Would have been even funnier if you open fire too lol. after db'ing him you could have said "Don't you know its illegal to slice things by Imperial Order"

Geaux Darkcloud It is a lot of fun....and I wont use the word honor, because frankly I think in the BH vs. Jedi scenario it's ridiculous to use it. I just call it sportsmanship. I dont think there is a whole lot of honor to be gained or lost in this conflict, most of it depends on what happens when you win, or lose, and how both combatants behave.
Could I have fired on the jedi ? Absolutley.....but I'm there as a smuggler. Now had the fight tilted the other way with the jedi hammering my friend, I most certainly would have opened fire, and given Mr. Jedi the absolute shock of his morning, and I would have played that off just as well. I guess I just figured that he had enough surprise, and was at enough of a disadvantage as is.
Here it is a few hours later, and I'm still laughing about the irony of the situation. I mean, as a smuggler I slice for people maybe once every couple of weeks, and of all the smugglers in all the galaxy, he happens to send a tell to just the ONE guy who's out there looking for him ? If I could give Mr. Jedi one piece of advice, in hindsight... "Go get a lottery ticket today, because you just beat all odds, may as well try for the big money ! "
Good story man !!!
It also puts a smile on my face to hear of a situation where honesty and pride is involved with a little rollplaying.
When I have BHs come after me I tip them a fraction of the payout on my mission just for the engagement and excitement.
