My character wouldn't know a Jedi's faction unless he fought beside him in a raid or something, so I go and attack everything... unless I have some valid RP reason for knowing he's a Rebel (as in, I see him talking to a Rebel recruiter at a base, or if I've done PvP with him.)

Nope, not one bit, I'm a BH when I'm playing that character and my contract is for YOU!!!!! It doesn't make any difference what faction you are. The only thing that makes a difference is if your a friend or if your in my guild. I have hunted a Jedi that I knew before (though we weren't close friends I did know them). Even though we never really did much together I still felt bad about the DB, we had a great fight and I think both of us enjoyed it, we ran all throughout the graveyards during our battle and ran through many krayts along the way. It was a close fight which I think we both enjoyed and neither one of us was upset at the end.

I'm also a little different in that I won't hunt the same marks twice. Once I've hunted and killed you I won't pull your mission (unless you give me some reason to, like trying to grief others). If I lose I may come back to try again later, but it won't be for days if ever (typically I don't hunt the same mark even if I fail). If it's a draw and you simply escape then as far as I'm concerned your still fair game . But I think going after the same mark several times borders on griefing depending on time between hunts. I also like a little variety, if you hunt the same mark you get to know their template and tactics and it just becomes too easy to overcome them.

I was a ranged BH before the CURB and I'm a ranged BH now. I almost never pull missions below 100k and am normally in the 150k range and I pretty much always hunt solo. This usually results in some great fights though I usually end up losing which I don't mind so much. I don't pull the missions for the money I use my alt for that, I just enjoy the good hunts though there seem to be very few.

I stay neutral so I can hunt 'em all individually.

Me...I prefer to make my choices over other things than faction, and because I dont want the debate about how I should not hunt Jedi of the same faction as me.

I like what i see so far.

i hunt the 90-150k range and i win 75% of the time. I hunt with a couple of guildies now and then and as long as we can get the same mission. Payout/faction is irrelivant. We just love the thrill of the hunt

I agree with most of what's been said so far. Faction doesn't matter to me in the least. Given the amount of jedi that I find on wookiee world, or hiding in houses, or that simply log off, if I started dropping missions just because they were the same faction too it would take me several hours just to find someone to hunt. On top of that, as someone else mentioned, I'm getting so tired of listening to jedi whine about same faction hunting that even if I would've considered dropping the mission before, I certainly won't now. There are certain guilds that I've been harassed by about this so many times that I now take great pleasure in hunting their jedi whenever I get the chance.

Just to make my position clear though, I do my best to treat everyone kindly and fairly. I enjoy hunting jedi simply because it is much moreenagaging to hunt a player than an NPC. There are few things more depressing to me than actually tracking a jedi to kashyyyk and not even getting a fight because they are AFK grinding. I'll kill them and collect my bounty, but it takes a lot of the fun out ofthe hunt. I almost always hunt solo, and if I do happen to have a group, then we're going after complete template jedi. Win or lose, I do my best to avoid ever hunting the same jedi twice. I am not a roleplayer, I joined the imperial faction simply so I could wear stormtrooper armor. Call it a silly reason, but I just love the way ST helmets look.

I object to these rules regarding same faction hunting simply because I see no merit in the arguements being presented. The arguements that I keep seeing are almost solely based on roleplaying ideals, such as "a loyal imperial soldier wouldn't hunt imperial jedi". Alternatively, I've seen appeals to "honor" as well, as in, it is somehow dishonorable to hunt jedi of the same faction. Forgive me, but most jedi I've encountered are neither roleplayers, nor are they "honorable". This is not to lump all jedi players into the same category, but when I have personally witnessed the players that are organising these treaties engaging in activities that border on griefing, or switching faction at the drop of a hat, it takes an awful lot away from the principles they are trying to enforce.

Basically my advice to the Jedi that are trying to make these arrangements. If you want other players to play fairly and behave honorably, it would be wise to hold yourselves to those standards as well.

Faction matters not.

I did only hunt rebs when I was an imp, but decided to go neutral and hunt all. I didn't want to deal with the headaches that come with same faction hunting.

I will not hunt same faction Jedi because personal RP rebel beliefs and guild rules. If I were neutral or imperial I would hunt all jedi. I don't look down on same faction hunting I just don't do it.

If I were a Bounty Hunter, faction wouldn't mean anything.

The only thing that would limit my hunting of same faction bounties would be some sort of agreement between me and them, or the rules of my Guild (if I had one) or something like that.
