Found this on the SWG newsgroups, those who have had the priviledge of getting a ticket answered by Jonw will know he was extremely helpful. He was let go due to cost cutting reasons. Usually cost cuts are due to lowerprofits akareduction of subscribers.

If you have been a part of Ahazi for any length of time you should know
csr-jonw. Csr-jonw, the best csrt ever, was fired due to a "Reduction In
Staff." Do you think that SOE had to reduce the staff because the CU was a
huge, overwhelming success? Or the other? LOL

Also, JonW had this to say, "I wouldn't count on getting a ticket answered
correctly inside of a week anymore, if ever. There were over 3000 when I
left last nite." To everyone who thinks that the game is improved now . .
.you really are kidding yourselfs.

JonW may want to spell yourselves right next time. I don't really think any CSR is good. Also wouldn't he be laid off due to cutting costs or reduction in staff. If you get fired it's almost always because of something you did to deserve it. Am I misunderstanding something here or was he laid off and you guys put fired instead? Not trolling, just curious. But the comment that no CSR is productive I still hold firm to, in my opinion, they are useless. They are Customer Service Reps which means they are the first line between us (the paying customers) and SOE. They act like clowns and rarely are any help, then ban you when you ask them direct questions. Clowns in my mind, that's all they are. SOE does need to get new CSRs...restaff them all as far as I'm concerned. If this was the lone good CSR, then I'm sorry to see him go, but major CSR reform is needed by SOE.

-Hey SOE, here's a novel idea. Instead of trying to get new customers to replace the lost ones. Try fixing the bugs so you get new customers and KEEP the old ones too! Next time you delete a post that puts SOE in a bad light, think about giving us reasons to put you in a good light instead. ...you see when someone buys the game it means they want to like it. When they cancel an account it means you made someone who liked the game dislike it. How's that good business again?
Where does a 90% drop is customer base equal good business? SOE

So - SOE hires people to provide customer service. A playerexodus takes place and continues to increase in regularity in an upward spiral. An expansion is released, more bugs encountered, more people leave... and they let go of the CS agents?

NICE.

I would agree that a lot of CSRs arent helpful, but I sympathize with them a little more now. I was in live chat friday night trying to get some issues with my game worked out and people were just badgering the CSR to no end. Demanding immediate results from the CSR that any rational person should know cant be done at that time or by that person. I was in chat for about 30 minutes and if they have to deal with crap like that all the time I really do sympathize.

JonW didn't post in the NG, some guy from ahazi posted there and I did a direct copy/paste to here. I didn't bother with correcting their spelling because the topic of what the post was trying to convey was clear to the average reader.

Being laid off, JonW may also have an axe to grind. As does this player on Ahazi that posted this. We will never know the real answers to why he was let go.
