Thread: Anonymous Mission Testing and What I Told the Devs

Finally got on TC to test.

I got the mission and started tracking.

When I finally got to the Jedi he was fighting Giant Worts. He was alone, but I simulated regular hunting as most will be with groups and tried to target him via tabbing.

It took me several seconds to TAB over to him. The Jedi knew I was after him before I could even target him. The smart Jedi will start running way before I would be able to target him in most situations. Now, add the fact that /duel is used almost exclusively in most situations to figure out a bounty target by the Jedi, he will know before the BHs.

We really need the Jedi name at some point in the process. The devs at the "FanFest Jedi Focus Group Session" even mentioned that the BH first strike ability makes them equal to full template Jedi in power (which is a fallacy in itself). Well, it is kinda hard to have first strikeor any kind of advantage when you have to be almost on top of the Jedi to know who he is!!!

Please make the name of the Jedi available after the Arakyd probe reports the planet location. This would resolve a lot of issues and still stop the so called griefing by gank squads, targeting specific Jedi etc., etc.

Thanks Tanks

Couldn't agree more .... I understand the desire to remove the name from the mission terminal, but why not give it to us with the bio-signature?

just be careful what you post in the devs forums Tanks, they booted Auraboron because he posted something. This is a big kick in the nuts as it is, we don't want to lose a good correspondant to.

Yeah, you can't gried someone if it takes 5 minutes just to find out who mission you've taken.

Getting names after the probe droid would rule.

tanks, with all due respect...

play your profession....you saw what happened to the unfortunate Bounty Hunter who attempted to take Han on first contact....make your pass, bide your time, and hit your mark when your ready.

yes, they may know you have theirmission, but they do not choose when you strike.

I think seekers would make more sense, and also ask them to remove the system message recieved when you /duel a BH. It doesn't really make sense, and like you said, it removes the ability to suprise a target.

Exactly....
It just doesnt make sense... you get a bio-signature, but no name?

But they choose to go into the house they drop at their missions or to cloak or to FR away. Don't make irrelevent arguments, especially when you know they are irrelevent.

I've tried hunting random marks and its really hard if they are in a group and under a pile of dead banthas... I really need my /target name

Yup, getting the jedi name at some stage during the hunt is essential to keep the first strike advantage.

Why worry about names? I can understand if you are neutral.. but if you are a rebel, you hunt Imps? If you are Imperial.. you hunt rebs? That is if you are ''loyal''... Besides that they should at least give the names when the probe driod tells you what planet he/she is on.. like '' NAME has been located on Lok''

One thing to keep in mind is the visibility changes combined with the online only change will make the pool of jedi we are getting quite different. There will be:

Full templates.
Kash wookie grinders.
Accidental visibility.

With out names Kash grinders are somewhat pointless and low levels that accidentally get themselves on the terms should be rare. Which leaves us mostly pulling Full template jedi that know what they are doing.

EDIT:
Also should add that over time these changes will effect behavior. With the ease of getting around without visibility jedi with templates that are weak to BH’s will change templates or stay off the terms. Making it even more likely that you will be getting FOTM PvPers and only the MBH/CM templates comes close to the 1 to 1.5 ratio on that type of jedi as far as I can tell.

there is a 3 day window from when you accept a mission until it gets automaticly cleared...if they want to sit in a house, cloak, or FR, for 3 days to avoid you, and you can't catch them in that time, more power to em....please read the second line of your statement aloud to yourself.

for the record...im not a fan of cloaking to escape combat (cheesy) and mobile homes are garbage...but there is absoloutly nothing wrong with force run, if they want to invest the skillpoints...there is burst food, and there are vehicles
