Whats the opinions on using this to hunt? I saw a set with 7300 energy resist for a reasonable price, and was wondering if anyone had any luck hunting with this armor. I saved some money and am ready to invest in a good set, so shoould i consider this, or go another route altogether. Any feedback is welcome.

Tk, why are you stating the obvious..Im saying that recon has higher energy resist..Jedi do energy damage..omg see a connection?? So now can you double post an intellectual response?

Q: Why are bounty hunters certified for Assault Armor instead of Reconnaissance Armor?
A: Because bounty hunters are certified for Assault Armor, not Reconnaissance Armor.

Now to reply to the question: the combat upgrade document that explained the roles of each profession considered BH as a tank profession. And they gave Assault Armor to tank professions, because they consider that a tank attracts enemies to him while the other professions deal the damage, and they consider that Assault Armor allows you to take heavier damage. Which is false when your opponents use energy weapons...

While the ranged arms help alot.......I don't like how they make you vulnerable to attacks and the melee defense drawbacks

BUT

I do have a 8108 energy resist suit of Ubese with +45 health per piece and is sliced for 75% armor break resistance...

Good stuff.

That, and : while the ranged arms help alot.......I don't like how they make you look like you were repaired by a cybernetic engineer who has a droid junkyard as his official limbs supplier.

I would use my cybernetic arm if it would not look ridiculous and awful (yes, both, not just ridiculous or just awful). Why not allowing us to use modern technologies, we all know they can make cybernetic limbs that look like real limbs at this time of the story, so why are we forced to use these pieces of junk ?! Why are we forced to choose between looking good and being competitive ?

Don't bother with anything over 7000, in my opinion. The protection armor provides runs on an exponential scale -- once you start getting that high, the defense it provides is neglegable. The difference between 7000 and 8000 armor is only something like 3% extra protection (or something like that)... except that the 8000 costs signifigantly more than the 7000 due to the expensive components it requires.

Considering the decay rate of armor, you're much better off in the long run with a suit of 7000.

The BH tree really needs to give GENERAL armor encumberance mitigations... I can see taking Novice Rifleman for the recon armor cert, but I'm an MBH/MC/CM3xxx... I'm fully mitigatedagainst Assault encumberance and more than fully mitigated against Battle... but put on recon and I feel like I'm wading in glue.

We may be tanks in PvE, but our endgame is Jedi Hunter... and that requires Energy resistant armor.

I guess I'm gonna have to look at getting a suit of Battle with an energy layer or something.
