yes, i would still hunt jedi. but here is what i want in return for killing the jedi...
his saber.NO, not his actual saber he spent millions on getting prem pearls, but a replica of his saber with his name on it. so when you display it and click on it, it says "Light Saber of <insert jedi name here>" and when you examine it, on the side it says something about how you hunted down this jedi, what planet, date you killed him, mabye even his payout at that time. you could not trade them (bio-linked if need be) and you can only display them in structures you own (takes up your lots, not a building you have admin to). and no one but you could pick them up. maybe even make them so they dont take up room in your house so you can still display the 7,473,920 jedi you have killed (thats an exageration) without haveing to buy guild halls just to display them.
i think to some BH's the jedi xp loss makes them feel like they have some kind of purpose in the game, they have a job that they get paid for. the thrill of the fight is not enough for them. i do it for the thrill of the fight and make some good buddies doing it. those that say they do it for the money... well, thats a bunch of bull. ya, itsa good payout, but when you factor in your buffs, foods, spice, stims, enhancers, bomb droids, armor, weapon, adk's, cloths, seekers, probes, AA's/CA's, etc... you really dont make any money..

I'd hunt them still. I don't hunt to grief and cause XP loss, thats a game mechanic at the moment. I hunt because i like to hunt, I like PvP. I personally would like the xp loss removed so that more Jedi would stand and fight. I like the OP's idea of a replica saber with details of kill etc...
Also, I don't care if a jedi does get away, just drop the mission and move on to the next.

and im just wondering, are there actually any other vet bh apart form myself that read these forums? who were bh when u needed master scout and master marksman to gain novice BH?
always make me laugh to read these forums now, most of you lot are respecc BH who went bh to get at jedis throats, so i bet if they removed xp loss or payouts, non of these would be bh anymore
i really hate when people say that. what makes you think you are a more worthwhile BH just because you've been a BH since before CU? what's wrong with someone resepcing to BH? what about people who never played the game before CU?
ALL Bounty Hunters have the right to consider their answer for any question that pertains to bounty hunters. Irregardless of how they got there, they are bounty hunters now. So get off your high horse. It may be a game, but like the real world; just because you've done something longer, doesn't make you better at it than someone newer to the field.
And to answer the main question of this thread:
Personally, I don't hunt jedi for the XP loss or the payout. Although i understand the logic that the jedi grind is SUPPOSED to be full of insane obstacles, it's never my goal to ruin somebody's enjoyment of the game. Ihunt jedibecause it is exciting, challenging and fun. There are few things more exciting in this game than tracking a jedi andstriking at the right moment.Message Edited by kismetg33k on 09-22-2005 10:05 AM
Anyone who thinks that they're "controlling" the population with BH since perma-death for Jedi was removed is delusional. Someone who is tenacious enough to go through the whole grind to get Jedi is not going to be so discouraged that they quit game if they get killed by a few Bounty Hunters. They'll suck it up and re-grind. And if they do quit odds are that they'll sell or give away the account, so the Jedi hasn't been removed from the game, they just have a different person behind the toon. We are a speedbump to the grinding paddies, and anything from entertaining to an annoyance for the full-temp folks, and that's it.
Why would I still hunt then? Because it's fun. It's fun to fight other PCs, and it's a challenge.
