Thread: So, with Jedi Missions being removed...

Is it actually understood why they are?

I mean, currently I'll accept two reasons.

1) Its the price you pay for getting to be a special class.

2) Its the price you pay for being more powerful than anyone else.

But with this new upgrade, Jedi isnt special, and Jedi isn't more powerful. To continue to havemissions on Jedi would be like having missions on officers. I love how its blamed on the 'crybabies' and the whiners, when it simply comes down to there being absolutely no further justification for the missions.

I actually enjoyed being hunted... when it meant something to be a Jedi and when being a Jedi had a tangible benefit. But, sadly, thats all going away.

I'm tired of hearing "Jedi have ruined this game", because they haven't. Jedi didnt ruin the game any more than Defense-stacking swordsmen, Spider Venom CMs, or exceptional rifles did. During every "era" of SWG, a Jedi always had some combination of professions that could outpreform it, so to say they unbalanced the game's mechanics is wrong. If you want to say that "Jedi ruined immersion" how is that the fault of just Jedi? Even moreso, how is that the fault of the players? Isn't that solely the fault of the devs for stupidly including Jedi in th GCW timeline? How does a Jedi ruin immersion anymore than seeing a squad of overt rebels ganking stormtroopers in theed? If you can accept some bizzare plot twist that has the rebellion that strong without it ruining your 'immersion' why can't you see a few Jedi?

Anyways, I'm sorry to see Jedi Missions go because I'm sorry to see Jedi turn into what it will be. Stop blaming it on 'crybabies' and quit touting Jedi as the ruination of the game. You know who's really to blame.

Actually your right jedi missions were because of all those reasons SOE said so many times. But since Jedi are no longer a special class maybe we can open player bounties on all players. Imputed randomly for quiting or dropping missions. Getting caught with contraband killing civilian type yellow npc's that sort of thing. makes BHs something besides loot farmers.

Jedi wasn't the cause, but it was a strong symptom of the problem: a game that lacked focused and solid direction. The general structure of the game was inferior to a classical RPG setup as well. I recall now some of my earliest posts about the "failed experiment" of the profession-based system (vs. a class system), and indeed it has come crashing with the full force of a mediorce expansion andcomplete unraveling of purpose.

They're being removed so the noobs that sign up and immediatly become Jedi don't get hunted and quit.
