Thread: Regarding the Jedi being a starting profession rumor
I still enjoy a ranged profession.
For me, it will make me want to be a jedi even less.
This point is just hillariously stupid.
Most of the people who don't want to be jedi (or don't want to be jedi anymore) simply choose not to become one. It's easy enough, it's not bothersome, it's not even a challenge.
Your point is totally invalid.
There will be people trying out Jedi because now they don't have to do what they refused to do (mindlessly grinding) but those who really got fed up with jedi won't change, I assure you.

In the beginning, yes, but back then even BH took you quite a while; by now you don't need any attention span to grind jedi.
Starting profession? Riiigghhhttt...That would be like the rumor that they will make Master Musician an Alpha Class profession with a one-shot kill anything button.

On the contrary....I personally know quite a few people on Bria that simply because they did not have the attention span to grind Jedi, they became BH's to exact some kind of "revenge" (in their own mind at least) on jedi.

See.... I'm a purist. I don't hate Jedi. Actually, I think they are GREAT! I hate the fact that there are so many IN THE TIME PERIOD the game is currently in. This is an old argument but very valid to me. I follow the movies, and comics, books, and games. Yes, I am a Star Wars fanatic, and it pisses me off to see so many Jedi, brashly dueling in Theed, or waiting for the Necrosis to spawn, etc. Remember there are only a handful of known Jedi and padawans alive at this point. The rest are in hiding or non-existant.
But, I can sit back and suspend that annoyance to a degree. I can still have fun in the game, and I don't think nerfing the Jedi into a starting profession is the right move here. It gives players something to work for. Something to "conquer" so to speak. I've never wanted a Jedi for the above reason, and I'm still on the fence with it. Though lately, I'm at the point where I still like playing the game and being social with my friends, but I'm getting bored with the game itself. I've quested all the quests, looted all the loot, and mastered the professions I am interested in.
To me, Jedi is the next logical step in the progession of my gaming experience. But I'm hesitant to make the commitment to do it given that I dont' really want to add to an already out of control "problem" as I see. Also, I'm thinking of taking on Jedi because I love PvP. And being in a primarily Jedi PvP guild, I am often disadvantaged in a fight because they are "looking out for me" or worrying about whether I am doing ok or not. Were I another Jedi it would free them up to keep the offense up, instead of defense of me.
So... I still haven't decided yet. I'm going to see what Mustafar is all about and reconsider everything in about a month or so. I think it'd be fun to get hunted by you guys. From what I can tell, we're all pretty decent players, just trying to have a good time!

As we have seen, Jedi is gradually being nerfed and will at some point be a starting profession.
SOE recieved a massive ammount of feedback from people cancelling that jedi took too long and they got bored and cancelled.
This would also remove the alpha class problem.
Last but CERTAINLY not least...think of the $$$ SOE would make.
SOE is a business and a business exists to make money.

Yeah...I'm guessing 70% of you guys will be jedi.
