I'm curious about this as well, I'm close to the same level as you (30). It seems that the mission difficulty should show you what level of opponent you are facing.

Yeah its stupid the way it works but just wait till u grind most of the rest of ur temp and u'll be fine. I had the same problem before but now I'm CL60 and I'm taking these lvl 73 missions(NPCs mind u) and getting lvl 25-55 marks. Just don't worry about the investigation tree right now and grind the rest of ur temp. Ur not going to be able to hunt Jedi while being CL 30 or such anyways....

For PvE BHing, there is zero correlation btw mission difficulty and npc CL...

when i was CL 25 i tried to do an easy mark which mission difficulty was level 17 or so.. then i got to my target and it was CL 57..

then I got to CL 80 and i'm doing PvE that are mission difficulty 90, then I get to my mark and it is only CL 30.

There the differing mission difficulty also has nothing to do with where the target is.. I've had lvl 90 missions that are On the same planet and easy to track and lvl 75 missions that are in the middle of nowhere on endor or lok..

When it comes to PvE hunting, if you are above CL 60 or above, just go for what pays more.. nothing else changes.. it seems like npc cl is random from cl 25 to cl 50 regardless of mission difficulty.

Any way to know what combat level your mark will be when you take a bounty hunter mission?

taken several now and cant seem to find a link between cash reward, mission dificulty and combat level of the mark

It's getting pretty annoying of traveling acros the planet(not training investigation rank yet till I know how to get missions taht i can actualy complete, would hate to have to travel acros the galaxy only to find I cant complete mission due to waaay to hard marks)only to find that the mission rated 25 has a mark with combat level 55(i'm 31 myself)

so far I've tried googling, forum search, reading trough the stickied posts for any info about bounty hunter missions but non list this info, and trying to link mark CL to missions descriptions/locations/cash reward/mission dificulty doesnt seem to be working either

you are not going to like pub 20. when you only get faction and online status. you are blind to your targets abilities. i am just curious about how many bh will get a new proffesion. the true bh wont.

If they ever implement faction I will be a happy camper. I might even get into alittle RP'ing

I'm not talking about jedi marks, but the npc marks

I find it odd that the missions labeled dificulty 25 have a mark level 55 and the 39 dificulty i take neext have a mark with combat level 22(and pays out more and is closer)

I dont really mind the distance and pay(so the 2nd mark annoyed a rich merchant that's willing to pay more for vengeance, I dont mind as long as I get my pay) but the "harder" mission having a way easier mark is beyond me

So basically from unlocking Novice Bounty Hunter up to CL 60, you can't do Bounty Hunter missions reliably?

I'm no game designer, but is it logical to offer a CL 25 player a mission to kill a CL 50 npc? What is the goal here?

Has it always been this way pre-CU (impossibly hard BH missions) ?

Could this simply be a bug.

Seems silly to prevent people from doing what their profession is supposed to do.
