First and foremost let me start with saying I know this is not the first time such a proposal has been made. The only reason i bring it up again is to try and give as much a detailed idea as possible while it's still fresh in my mind .

Proposal: To implement a PCBS that is not only adds MORE PvP to the game but also adds a form of RP as well (something sorely missing from the game). The following is a breakdown of the different systems and ideas to bring them to the game.

PLAYER CONTROL (Hunted player or "mark")

This system is what I'd call an "opt in" system. This means that consent is given by the hunted player before hand to initiate combat from BH's. The way this would work is players could either use a command prompt or by speaking to an NPC to start the consent. They would then be able to choose from a list of options to tailor the way they want to be hunted. For example:

1-Player opens the consent menu or conversation (if by NPC)

2-They'd then chose WHO they want to be hunted by. Choices would include by Rebel only, Imperial only, Neutral only, or all BH's.

3-Other options could include if they want to their bounties to be system generated, player generated, or both (more on this later).

4-They could then chose a level of "difficulty". This could include such variables as how many times a day/play session they can be hunted or even how many BH's can hold their mission at one time (anywhere from 1-10 let's say).

5-They would also be able to chose "safe zones" where they cannot be hunted by selecting certain planets.

6-Before closing the menu, the player would then be warned about the risks and given a chance to cancel or porceed with the bounty system.

What this does is give the player a chance to decide when, where and who hunts them, thus giving them semi complete control as to their experience.

SYSTEM GENERATED BOUNTIES

These are random bounties placed on players based on their preferences. A different back story can be generated for the player as part of the mission briefing process. Later on, this could be also be based on the player performing certain in game actions such as factional PvPing (kill too many rebels and they place a bounty on your head), smuggling, or factional NPC combat (kill too many NS and THEY will place a bounty on you), etc.

Bounty payouts would be low and available to ALL levels of BH's. The level of the BH's invest line would also dictate the payout as well. Gaining XP could be possible in this system but should either be low OR restrictions put in place so that BH's cannot exploit it by leveling too fast.

PLAYER GENERATED BOUNTIES

This is probably the most interesting aspect of this system and really opens up new avenues of RP elements. ALL players would be able to place bounties on any player KNOWN to be bounty enabled (if they opt to have player generated missions). This could either be done via special bounty terminals or via NPCs located around the galaxy (most likely cantina back rooms ). A list of options would also open up for these players to choose from including:

-Name of player

-Bounty payout (this would be much higher than system generated payouts and could beANY amount)

-Time limit (in days, probably up to 7)

-Back story (this could be a system generated listOR player written as long as foul lanuage is restricted)

Upon selecting their options the bounty payout would then deducted from their account and put "on hold" until either the bounty is collected or time runs out. A bounty will be deemed complete ONLY if the mission holder applies a DB. When completed, the mission holder will then have the credits placed in their bank accounts. If the bounty attempt fails the mission is deleted from the BH's datapadbut can be retrieved again as long as the timer is stil active. If the timer expires before completion the credits are then returned to the player who placed the mission sans a a non-refundable bounty fee of 10(?)% paid to the system. BH's that still have missions active in their datapads when the timer expires will have them deleted automatically.

BOUNTY RETRIEVAL (Hunter)

BH's would be able to get missions from terminals and/or NPC's. Terminals could possibly be changed around so that players could select the type of mission they are looking for (IE NPC, player, or Jedi). NPC's could only have player (non-Jedi) missions available (again to add some RP). Bio-sigs and tracking would stay the same with the exception of the BH already knowing the marks name.

BOUNTY REWARDS

As mentioned earlier, payouts would be fixed for system generated bounties (depending on investigation level) and possibly have an XP value (hopefully non-exploitable). Player generated bounties could have unlimited payouts (with the possibility of a minimum----10k?) and NO XP attached.

BOUNTY TEF

This is where things might get tricky. What "I'd" propose is that player bounty tefs (and maybe even Jedi bounty tefs) supercede all other forms of tef. Again this is tricky as there mihgt be some areas where this could be exploited. Basically, bounty tefs would overide all other forms of tef or factional standing (combatant, SF, etc) and temporarily lock out all other forms of combat or helpful actions. For example. BH tracks down mark who happens to be involved in a GCW battle (overt). BH attacks mark and all other forms of combat cease to affect the mark. The fight would be 1 on 1 until either player is DB'd. In essence all other NPC's, mobs, and players would turn "white" to the 2 playersOR in the case of multiple BH's with the same mission, only the player(s) that have the bounty in their datapad and the mark can attack. If anyone has a better idea for THIS version of tef (and Jedi tef if applicable) please feel free to elaborate.

I have a twist to the BH tef that involves being able to attack other BH's with the same mission but I'll save that for another post. For now I'd like to hear what the BH community has to say about this proposal. Personally speaking (since I wrote it ) I think it's one of the fairest ways to implement a player controlled bounty systen that would eventually be changed around for use in other types of bounties (mainly Jedi and maybe even smugglers one day).
