Thread: Stolen Marks. Anyone else having this happen?

The mark was an NPC. I don't have the skills to fight a jedi yet. I'm relatively new to ranged combat. Been melee since launch, but their day is coming.

On 3 separate occasions today I have tracked my marks to starports only to find somebody else already fighting them. I may be wrong but I thought only the person with the bounty was supposed to be able to attack the mark. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this happen to them.

Yeah...is it npcs attacking them? That happens sometimes...and another time my mark attacked a player character, who in turn killed my mark, but I still got the money and xp...just no loot...

sometimes they agro other bh's and jedi
sux for them though cause after killing the mark they arent allowed to loot the corpse

I actually had a mark agro me before I took the first shot. Only happened once, but was very odd when it did happen

Wow thanks for the quick responses. They were all being attacked by other players not NPC's. I did still get the credits and experience also. I am gled to know they can't loot them also. I had just never had this happen before and was curious. I find it kinda funny that the marks sometimes attack random players yet I can stand within range for long periods and have never had one attack me before I fired the first shot. Thanks agains for the help.

If you are combatant or special forces they will attack you on sight. atleast they do me when im combatant or special forces. Could be they just dont like Imperials.
I cant wait till i shuttle in to a starport to find a few dead players from trying to killone of the NEW IMPROVED BOSS MARKS, lol Might even sit back and let the mark live just to watch others try.

I have seen this and think I have a repro.
When this has happend it seems to be only when the marks make it into a starport first off. I have never seen anyone attacking my marks when they are out in the wild.
Also, I have only seen this when I just get a new mission and just got the planet data back from the Arakyd droid, and I just landed.
usually a mark only winds up in a starport if you failed to kill it out in the wild (expceptions to this of course) or take too long to track it down.
It is a bug, I ean the devs were clear BH NPCs marks were spose to be killable only by the BH yopu took the mission
Obviously this is not true all the time.
In some cases 2 BHs wind up with the same BH mark. both with their WPs updating on the same guy.
I suspect that there is a case where BHs are pulling the same BH mission at the same time. (its why I have leabred to be as fast as I can in getting to my mark and never letting them near a starport.
Especially Dant MO. Nobody will stop and ask whose mark is that. They will all just shoot and loot as fast as they can.

I thought of that, and checked after the fight, I was on leave. So I have no idea whay he agroed me. Was the strangest thing.

A "boss" will agro anyone, so ifhe spawns in a public place and you don't get there fast enough you will lose the kill. Complain if you like, but those random boss agros are the only shot non-BH's get to find decent loot solo. The average throw away stuff you get on a regular mission is better than the stuff other professions are lucky to get, so don't complain too much if you lose a mission every once in awhile.
Hey, next time someone takes one of those missions, it justmay be you hanging out at the starport with the opportunity to collect on that mission.

I was attacked by another guy's mark in the Mining Outpost on Dantooine once. The real bounty hunter came along, but I still got looting rights to it since I did the most damage. It was just "smuggler junk."
