Thread: Suggestions for taking down MDef...

wow.... um..... 1550 damage every 19 seconds.... that means a jedi has to heal 3 times a minute just to keep up with the extra damage your droid does / helps you do. Add that to the heals that he'll already have to be doing..... you get the picture. Very nice work bro.

i think i went up against a mdef mls and i was having a very tough time--expectedly so--his saber was sweet i think he hit me for 770s with his adv power strike (out of 1350s total damage) and i didnt play as smart as i could have--ie kite more lol

QUESTION though

I am mbh mcm--does anyone know if shock reduces thier defenses at all? or does it just let states and dots stick better

second-- i rarely use duelist stance--i dont like recurring macros (i think they cause the cannont kd recover while kd bug) and its a pain to keep starting--does anyone know if this would help me significantly vs mdef dealing alot of damage?

Seems like the issues with BH vs Mdef is unniversal for the most part. Guess keep reading here and pick out what can help, keep trying till we get it right!

I rarely use Duelistic Stance. But, when I do, I preceed it with a disarming shot, so he can't do damage to me while I'm setting it up.


I usually pop it when I am in trouble. I'm a kiter.... so let's say my stopping shot doesn't hit. He catches up and KDs me, so I hit disarming shot, duelistic stance, then run again until my KD/Snare/root are ready again, etc. The duelistic stance doesn't make a lot of difference in overall damage from Lightsabers because they have a very small difference between min and max damage..... but, there is an extra chance of them missing me all together. So hopefully he'll miss a dervish, powerstrike, head hit, or armor break in the few seconds before I can kite again.


If he does happen to hit the saber break, I take a synth steak, cause as a full kiter (MBH / MPist / Carb 0440) i only have stims to heal and armor break hurts.... bad.

Ok, I have trouble with MDef. No matter what armor, weapons, foods, buffs ect I use I have very low dmg output against their high dmg/high def. What are some tactics used for Mdefs?

Im MBH/MP/CM4xxx

MCM is the key, Poison/Fire/TorsoShot/Hemorphage/Traumatise/Elec Drain

Run around him while shooting. Let him drain his mind while healing after the stuff ticks. Works good normally.

wait for him to start spinning a lair for his buddies, paralyze him.....KD as it's about to wear off....get the DB../bow to2 dozen pickets....get paid. lol

i just happened to jump someone the other day as he was about to start spinning a lair..i'm assuming he had a spinning macro going. I actually paralyzed him BEFORE he started spinning (woops) and after my debuffs were placed his first attack was a spin...he agro'd every picket in the area instantly, i knocked him down immediatley. As soon as he came out of paralyze, he was dead in under 2 seconds flat. Was kinda funny...no idea what temp he was either.

I'm MBH MP 4000cm and I've done it.


I have a secret trick with quickdraw hit quickdraw adv crit, imp body, torsoshot, adv crit, imp body repeat. It is possible to hit them so fast (a few criticals from the adv crit and from 10% crit slice helps) that they drop. I try to put this in when their force armor drops.


I also still use a rifle. I have a superb ALR that I use for range. Yeah I'm not as accurate but it hurts them when it hits. If you stay at range and make them heal you can get their mind down.


I have a featherweight that is pupped down to 46 SAC that I use the majority of the fight, then I have my damage pupped rifle for when I need range (to recover etc) and then I have my damage capped/damage pupped DL-44 (500 min damage). I use this when I want to hit him hard but still use a pistol.


Now MDefs are still super tough but they tend to be overconfident. That's their weakness. They don't run and often play around with you and stop to laugh. I've killed about 3 that way.

Actually they are easy as are almost all targets if you remember one thing...
Surprise. I used to hunt knights solo with a pistoleer template pre-cu.
You dont want to go toe to toe with a master defender, its possible but if he has a good saber and enhancer skills its going to be one helluva tough fight.
Hit them when they are weak, use a bomb droid, study what they are doing and set up an ambush for them.
Basically, be a real bh. Stalk, study, learn and hit them hard and fast when you see an opportunity.
The reaction you want to get from the target is not "ah Im being attacked...better heal and buff up."
No...you want something more like this:
"What the **** just happened? Why am I incapped? Who is that guy coming to me?"

How you can pull this kind of surprise attack off is another matter, that requires real planning and skill.
I wont give instructions on that, its something I think everyone should learn for themselves.

I know everyone hates the droids but....


An R-3 can have 2 armour modules (or 1 and 1 storage for stims), 1 stimpack module, 1 medical model, 1 auto repair, and1 combat modules

A Probot can have 1 of each



Mine does to a master defender... 60+ damage (after armor) 15x in 19-20 seconds.. the 110 medical rating allows me to heal (master cm) for over 350 more pts every heal, it can alsofeed me stimpacks on a macro.



This little bit adds up.



What it does is when I get my fire, diseise, and poision on my dots do about 300 each. my torso bleeds for 50.


This gives me dots that go 650 every 19 seconds.. in19 seconds my droid does 900 dmg.


That is 1,550 in ticks every 19 seconds from cm and droid. (and you can add about 100- 250 for disease, depending how long its been on)


These really add up when you take into consideration this not including your damage from your weapon.
