Thread: Okay... next question... lol... which do I want? High kinetic or high energy protection?

You need both.
Bounty Hunter is about being prepared for any challenge. I carry an 8K set of Ubese (since I'm also a Master Smuggler) and a 2K+ PSG for energy protection and an 8K set of Composite for lairs or marks that pull out a Striker. Don't choose....buy both.

Well, the Kinetic I can get as it seems to be the only thing in stock everywhere that I go. So I will buy a set of that as well.

I will probably be doing both options, but for now i'm doing the BH missions. Problem is I haven't been able to find Energy armor for Wookiees yet other than those 2 pieces.
Did you have a look under Misc - Wearable Container? Some AS sell complete sets in backpacks.

My BH has Ubeese with 8K + energy and sliced with 75% AB protection. If you can find it this high, I would ADK it as well. For Kenetic I use BH armor. I think it was 8-9K Kenetic. Just have the armor made focused on one type of protection. Good Luck
Why would you do that?
I spent 1.75M on 8k helment, braces, pants, and jacket. I looted my reactive micro platings, but with the current market flood, they shouldn't be too expensive to buy. The slice itself cost 90k, but let's just round the whole process up to 2M for 40k condition armor
Now ADKs on Kauri cost 8-10 million credits and I keep a spare (and cheaper) suit for non-jedi purposes
So assuming I buy 3 ADKs for just the helm, pants, and jacket, that's anywhere from 24 to 30M credits (plus the 2M for the initial suit).
If I spend 24M to ADK my suit, that means I'd have to rack up enough damage to break 12 individual suits of armor. If I successfully repair any of those pieces, the damage needed to warrant the ADKs would go up even more.
Now your server might be different and good armor might be extremely expensive or ADKs extremly cheap. But for me, unless I put AAs on a piece, I ain't ADKing it

I have seen both mentioned, but which is better? I am staring at Wookiee Assault Armor w/ a kinetic rating of 6664 and energy of 4664. The rest are 5664 across the board. Condition of 81,500 and 4 sockets. I was able to find 2 pieces of Energy ratings over 6000, but it was like an arm and a boots I think.
If you have either Master Smuggler, Pistoleer, or Rifleman you will have Recon armor certification. Because recon armor has an extra layer of energy protection you should be able to find an expensive set of Kashyyykian Ceremonial with 8k energy protection. You should also be able to find a less expensive suit of ceremonial armor with 7k energy protection
If you have either Master Carbineer or Combat Medic you will have Battle armor certification. Kashyyykian Black Mountain armor should have 7k or 6k energy protection
If you have niether Master Smuggler, Pistoleer, Rifleman, Carbineer, or Combat Medic, you will only have Assault armor certification. Kashyyykian Hunting armor should have 6k or 5k energy protection
Because Light sabers deal energy damage, you would probably want to buy armor with high energy protection. Keep in mind as your E protection goes up, Kinetic goes down and vice versa, so if you are in situations where you take kinetic damage (i.e. grinding), Hunting armor would probably be the way to go. Personally I would buy one suit of high E and another of high K to use depending on what the situation warrants
Don't forget your trade forums and the "recon armor" tab on the galatic bazaar
