Thread: Which first? Master Marksman or Novice BH? Master Pistoleer before BH?
Let me tell you the first profession is the hardest and takes longest. Your XP cap per kill is low, your CL is low you can't use many weapons.
Once you've mastered one you can use CL 54 weapons and your XP cap is somewhere near 6k per kill. I went through the Combat Lines of BH alot faster than I did through Rifleman... the Investigation line took me almost a week then to finish though. But I was CL 70+ at that time, so could take the marks with relative ease.
Personally I would do it the same way again, think also if i'd use pistols instead of rifle.
Get Novice BH & Novice Pistoleer first and then work your weapons lines in BH only. Reason being you get two CL per BH box over the single level in Pistoleer.
Once you have master marksman and BH 0444 move on and master pistoleer from there.
By the time you get to that point you should have enough combat XP to be 0003 pistoleer if not 0004. (My template doesn’t have master marksman so it may throw my calculations off a bit).
Master pistoleer from there and then start your investigation line. Remember get enough XP for two boxes before you buy anything in investigation line.By the time you finish you should have enough combat XP to just master BH if not very close to it.
Hope that helps. p your combat XP into the master marksman box (won’t take long really) and then subsequently your combat XP line of Pistoleer.

I am going to ask a really stupid question, so please don't yell at me ![]()
Now that it's not a requirement to be a BH, why would you waste all the skill points to go Master Marksman? I understand you get bonuses to the other BH weapons, but for a weapon specialized template (like MBH/MCarb) isn't it a bit of a waste?
Again, I don't know the answer to this question, as I am just starting to learn about being a BH...so I am very curious. I had no plans to go Master Marksman, but if I am missing something, I want to know ![]()
CLs are not granted by boxes. They're calculated from the ammount of XP you get for a box and the higher you get the more XP you need for the next CL.
If you're CL 1 and go to Rifle 4 in Marksman, you're CL 9 or something like that.
If you're CL 70 and then get Rifles 1-4, you can be happy if it pushes you to CL 71.
Thats because of the XP thing. You need 91k Rifle xp to go to Rifle 4 total.
For CL 1 to 2 its for example (making numbers up here now, I admit that), 1k, then from 2 to 3 its 3k and so on. From 70 to 71 you need 200k XP.
So the whole Rifle 1-4 tree now gives you just about half of what you would need for the next level, and if you already were in the second half you will get that CL if not you won't.
The earlier you get a box the more the jump for that box is at that time. Therefore another box makes a smaller jump and in the end it all evens out again.
If the boxes would be tied to "This box gives +2 CL" or something like that, then 2 elite combat profs would give you CL 108. (because every elite prof solo gives you CL 54). Even if the cap is 80 you should hit CL 80 at about 50% of the second Prof and not when you master it.
Enh I was just passing on what I was told and I got 2 per box in the last few days though I will admit I wasn't paying uber close attention
First profession gives you CL 54 at master, if you master a second you're usually CL 80.
A profession only has 18 boxes though (not counting the pre-reqs), but has to fill 54 Levels... So some boxes will have to jump you over more than one level.
If it is tied to xp, then why don't you get to CL 80 before you purchase the master box?
I was BH 4444 and Pistol 4444 and didn't get 80 until I went back to town and purchased the skills.

I believe going Master Marksman gives you +20 to General Ranged Accuracy and maybe a speed bonus. I dont know I do not have Master Marksman.
+25 to General ranged accuracy
+15 to General ranged speed
had it with Aeron as a master Pistoleer / Master rifleman and loved it

Ok, let me reformulate that.
Its tied to the XP spend in skills. Till you buy the Masterbox you have 1 mill XP (or 340k combat for MBH) lying around but not bound in any skill.
