Thread: How would you slice.......

I've got a featherweight fwg5 pistol I don't know how to slice.....
speed 2.07
damage 352 - 947
if it matters, I have one of those old scopes on it with +62 accuracy.
any advice on slicing would be greatly appreciated...

hmm can't go wrong with the 10% crit slice, but whats your modded speed with it?

Keep in mind that a speed slice will let you land your state attacks (intim, KD) faster. On my speed sliced HCSP with a speed powerup (122 pistol speed, 0.71 mod speed on the gun) I can land 3 attacks after a KD before they recover, and only 2 before. Somethin to consider when you're slicing....both speed and crit will give you similar modded DPSs

I'd probably go speed and critical. Then I would use it to farm BH missions until I looted some good Casings and have a better one made. With 180+ Casings a good weaponsmith will be able to cap damage at 966 and have SAC capped or really close. Your weapon is not bad, but it's not great either. Don't get to caught up in the accuracy on a weapon, if you check the weaponsmith forum you will find that it is broken. Unlike accuracy added from skill boxes, food and tapes accuracy from weapons do not increase your damage. From my own experience using a HLR with 11 accuracy and a ALR with 50 accuracy, I see little difference in my hit/miss ratio.

...is the sac cap at 65 for pistols?... mine's at 65, and I did use some 180+ power cells on this one.
Should I even use this pistol for pvp, or go out shopping again?

I have all my pistols crafted to cap damage and cap the SAC. I also like them to be as close to 2.00 speed as possible. I then doa 12% speed slice. So far my best results come fromt his combo. My pistols on average are 385base dps with 66 SAC. A speed pup give my 975+modded dps, or a sac pup will give me 46 sac. I tend to use the sac pup more than the speed or damage pups. Just my two cents though, different weapon combo's work well with different people.

I'm still new to the profession. BH can slice their own weapons?

....bh's can't slice their own weapons, I'm just trying to figger out what to put the customization into...
just to get this clear, power ups can exceed caps, slices and crafting loot cannot, right?
and man, that 45 sac after the powerup must really let you go the duration....

the only thing about the old scopes is that they convert from Kinetic to Energy, wich sucks becase kinetic bypass a PSG. And IMO dps isn't the most important stat on a weapon(especially a pistol) to worry about. Focus more on Speed,Sac, and dmg.

Correct, slices ad loot components cannot exceed cap, but with some nice components you can cap damage and sac with ease. Then you can do the 12% speed slice and pu a dmg pup (non-defenders) or a SAC pup for those 30min battles.

I would go all 100% speed. Pup with Sac for never ending specials.

they fixed this. If you use one and it converts to energy you just have to wait or log off for a bit and it will convert back to kinetic
