Stupidest thing I've ever heard.
Only if you expect the Everquest Correspondents to get paid too.
You don't get paid for a volunteer position.
If they can't hack it, they leave and get replaced by someone who can.

Yeah, really, besides SOE would never do that because quite frankly, the correspondents are here for us, not the dev. team. The Dev. team rarely listens to the correspondents unless it suits them anyway.
Our Correspondents are basically here just to compile and shrink data and present the issues to the developers. If we didn't have correspondents the developers wouldn't suffer much, they'd just do what they were planning on doing anyway. In fact a long time ago (over a year ago) they talked briefly about getting rid of correspondents. The players got totally pissed though, so they decided to keep them, even though it was a hassle for the community manager trying to find replacements all the time because most correspondents quickly found out that their professions problems fell on deaf ears.

Then people would join the Corr. program for the money, not because they want to help the profession.

If the correspondants were paid then they would worry about their paycheck, jobsworth and all.
They would no longer be the unappreciated saints they are now
Get what you're saying though. I think they should at least get free subs and loadsa goodies. Like a full expenses paid trip to Skywalker Ranch etc...
Of course, this should go for every correspondant.

The BH correspondent puts up with way too much crap from his own and our alike. The man deserves a wage.
The Jedi correspondents that I've known seemed to be more evasive of their community and their issues. They type them, post them here and that's the end of it it seems. Fired.
the GCW forum is actually one of the better forums, or at least it was. It was all brought downhill by the GCW correspondent himself who screwed it all up. Fired.
The problem with making those positions paid, is that you have to make all of them paid under the Equal Opportunities Act, failure to do so would leave SOE liable for a lawsuit so big Lucas would pull the Star Wars franchise from them to prevent bad publicity for Ep 7...
So in short, no signature. With the exception of Tanks I see no evidence that these guys do anything more than any other correspondent that make them deserving of a pay cheque.
