Just so I am clear on ELenora's thoughts. Mind Dots via AE and no line of sight is over powered. Line of site for AOE mind dmg would solve the problem and would not be over powered.
If this is the case I would say yeah, I agree. The DOT itself is not overpowered, Sure mind dmg is powerfull, but we as CM's in PVP arnt exactly the quickest mind killers, I mean come on!
Also, I dont think its about balance across classes, its not really possible. People will alwasy grab the best mix across the boards using a certain mix to be "better" than another. If a skill is so over powered that its game breaking, then well yeah, fix that. IE spammed KD? Non TEF AOE disease?
It should be much harder to apply mind dmg of any kind. I know the vision is to use mind dmg to balance out the healing classes in some way. Mind Poison is not the end all though, it should be countered by a Doc with nice Cure Poisons kits. Sure a sucky Cure A, wont save you in time. Cycle time on poisons are what 30 seconds? 5 seconds per poison using a nice Cure kit and poof all gone. Its stoppable, but stuff like Eye shot are very hard to stop(if LOS was implimented of course.)
I guess one thought might be that is LOS was put in across the board.. heals would be nerfed? My thought is.. BAH! Why should I be able to heal someone around a building or inside one? Is that even possible? Dont think it should be. I do most of my hunting out of door in the open, and dont often get into PVP in towns(mostly 1on1s so far).
Ahh well just my thoughts on a hot issue.
a couple of things can happen that will help counter mind poison...
1) If non-Los is kept then just mind poison should be reduced...to about 50% of what it is now...Since H and A are healable, I dont think that H and A are out of balance...
2) If mind damage is kept as powerful as it is, then Los need to be put in
3) Doctors Cure packs should be equal to CM dots...as they are now, CM poisons are stronger than Doctor cures...no reason a Master Doc should not be able to cure a Master CM's dot in one application.
4) the introduction of a AOE cure pack for the doctor class might be warrented...
Personally i think that 1 and 3 are the best options so far....
Porblem with 2making poisons LOS would negate one of the best tactical weapons in game, the ability to do damage to bunkered in enemies...Also since our heals are nonLOS it would just make sense that our dots would be too...
4) would be very power and almost completely neutralize anything a CM could do...maybe AOE cure packs could be 1/2 the effectiveness of normal packs...would need testing...definately a master doctor level ability might even give master doctors some very powerful pvp viability and reasonss to master the line
Got hit with a mind bleeding poison from the basement of a clone center where I'd just sent someone with my rifle. She pulled out a poison, threw it at me, and dropped my 1000 mind pool in two ticks.
No LOS? Are you KIDDING me? For something that can deal unhealable damage that kills in TWO TICKS?
I'm a com med too, but I'm sane.... this needs to be ANNIHILATED!
No AOE for Docs, my friends. The only profession, who can throw a pack is the combatmedic. why should a doc throw an AOE Cure, too? Are they combat-docs, now?
And dont tell me, the devs get mind poison LOS and H and A poison non LOS, your kidding, and dont believe this, they will nerf all or nothing. You saw it before.
Docotors should be PBAOE cure not ranged...
and if los is gone for mind it goes for H and A too...
i was talking damage reduction only for mind leaving H and A the same...

if dots got LOS all dots go LOS...
if none are los they all stay non los..but
mind damage and only mind damage gets lower...
its riduculous to treat the mind pool the same as the other 2 because they arent
Try to understand that combat medics are useless outside of PVP. We are extra powerful at PVP because we are extremely suck OUTSIDE of PVP. You are calling for a nerf. Very well. What happens next? Tell me a good reason to be a combat medic if I am not very powerful in PVP. I don't see one. Area heals are nice.
Area heals are not worth this many skillpoints.
If you want us to be nerfed in PVP so badly, then please at least try to consider what it is going to do for our profession and come up with a solution to give us more PVE power. That, or stop calling for a nerf. I see absolutely no reason we should be nerfed. So we can area mind poison, whats the big deal? Have you ever freaking PVPed? ITS FAST. I die just as quickly to a bounty hunter as he dies to my mind poison.
THERE IS NO REASON TO NERF COMBAT MEDICS
If CM stays the way it is right now everyone will flock to the profession and it will be the battle of the mind poisons all taking place in cantinas and starports. I am a Doctor and picked up CM yesterday and I know alot of others that have already switched to the CM profession.

Just because Cm "sucks" in pve, which it so does not...
its no excuse to have an overpowering class in PvP...
thats just poor game design...
i'm all for pumping up the pve viability of a CM...but remember...and I still totally believe this
