posted this in another thread, but heres a couple to have to replace your standard icons for DuelistStance and Underhandshot

Underhand

-----------------

/underhandshot;

/pause 30;

/tell <self> "Knockdown Ready";

Duelist Stance

--------------------

/dueliststance;

/pause 26;

/tell <self> "Stance Ready.";

these two repalce your standard icons totally. There can be slight annoyances with it regarding the self-tells...but it also is a bonus. Firstly, Underhand macro will beep when you get the tell (same with duellist). As long as you remember what special you used first, you wont need to read the bottom to know what special to use. Second, this means spamming the attacks is seldom an issue.

However, the self-tells CAN get annoying if you MUST spam (ie "cant see target" etc)

As for a "starting attack" macro...depends on the purpose? PvP ? PvE?

For PvE I like to use:

/prone;

/pause 1;

/cover;

/pause 10;

/concealshot;

/pause 8;

/concealshot;

/pause 8;

/concealshot;

/pause 8;

/sniper;

/pause 6;

/kipupshot;

/pause 1;

/underhandshot;

/pause 1;

/critical;

/pause 1;

/headshot;

or break it up into a couple macros. This one is long, and to be used from max range (or the conceals wont all get used)

play around with different ones. You will find effective ones in no time. For PvP, I dislike macros. I find it better to use things on-the-fly since every target is different. The largest Macro I will use in PvP might be twoto 4actions. (ie: KD, Stance,Bleed,Root)

LOL, I don't understand why people rely on macros during combat, practice a little and gain some experience and you won't need to macro loop duelist stance and knockdown timer and such- it's like a street racer knowing his speed without even looking at the speedometer. When you get better at this, you'll also have the ability to time your target's macros (if they look like they're running one) and apply a startle or disarming shot to disable it in time, it's a valuable tactic.

generally I wont even USE macros in PvP (as stated) because you cant rely on them.

but for KD, i use it because a)lag can affect things. And thus, it is good to know the exact millisecond i can KD again. And when you are dealign with 36k ham npcs that can hit for up to 1000, I rather enjoy keeping them unable to hti me at least a couple more times.

Hard to think like a racer when you are a cold, stiff and fetid stinky corpse.

Any of you guys have a good macro for a bomb droid. I am a master rifleman and I need to stay at least 25m from my target in order to secure a adv. sniper shot. I want a macro which will have my droid come next to the target (25m-60m) away and detonate when the droid reaches the target.

This macro for bomb droids only works with droids already named and prepared in your datapad, not ones that you pull from inventory during combat.

Name your droid something (I use "BD").
Train it the follow target command - I use "chase";

Macro DetDroid:
/tellpet chase;
/pause 0.1;
/target (BD); <---parenthesis are important to wrap around your droid name
/pause 0.1;
/detonateDroid;
/pause 0.1;
/target JediName; <---where JediName is your mark name

If you have a target macro that you use with your marks name you can replace the last line with /macro targetMacroName

I don't normally use the chase command inside the macro, but you asked so here you go.

I have this macro bound to my scroll-lock key.

other than bomb droid macros and the like......

The best macros are simple ones that merely tell you when stuff is ready again, or about to expire. For instance, when the 30 sec timer on KD is up or when you are about to run out of duelistic stance.

Like bypassing the cooldown timers? That's an exploit.

I rely on my skills, not something that does the work for me, and the downside of macros is that it can be interrupted or interrupts your attacks and if the opponment is smart, he'll time it and disable it like I do using disarming shot.

To each their own I guess.
