Thread: DB timer...how do you deal with it?

So far the last 3 missions I took failed after I incapped them. (2 runaways 1 killed me). Between their body slideing 40m away, to their incap timer being so short that they stand-up, full heal, and either take off or kill me.


Just curious what some of you guys are doing? Is there a DB macro i can run?

after you incap them, just keep spamming attacks until they either die, or you can get close enough after you incap them to start the db right away.

or, there is a cybernetic arm that gives you a ranged DB, look around on the forums for these..

No there most certainly isn't.

I normally try to db on second incap. 90% of the time after they fall they end up sliding away on the ground which takes up to much time for the db. While they are incapt the first time, start spamming your strongest (non-warmup) shot, so if they start to get up again, it will make them incap again, then db. Or db them a 3rd time for a triple incap death..

Db'ing is pointless. Just tripple-incap them. You get the payout for tripple capping.

Actually, you're both right.. there IS a ranged DB arm but it doesn't work (the +10 ranged distance part of it does tho, just the ranged DB is borked)

Yeah the arms special attacks are completely useless I have both which gives me a range of 80 yards an keeps Jedis at a safe distance. The Critical Shot Skill on the 10 yard arm was intended as a DB but is now useless and does about 67 points of damage. I heard a rumor that it works if you incap them with sniper shot but thats boggus, i tried it. Anyways Triple Incap for the win... just create a macros that spams your best shot continuosly and wait for it, but if your close enough try to DB while you spam and avoid the risk of them healing before you get them... belive me, they got a macro running too, for heal. So it all depends whos works first.

Oddly enough, it has never gotten me into trouble before.


I think it's stupid and shouldn't be in the game, but then on the other hand, DB was very unstable before. I would hit DB multiple times, and it would say like "Target out of range", now I do believe the timer was put in to insure stability, not to hinder us, because, in truth, I've never had a "DB crash" since the timer was put in.


If the Jedi gets back up, I used an Advanced Critical Shot, there's no way they can heal that.


Pistoleer for the win.

triple incap...it sucks, but hey, its not my fault SOE buggered the DB system.

I always expect them to get up from the first incapp, so I RARELY run the DB warm up for the first incap. I just stand over them spamming paralyze. As soon as they get up (sometimes they get a heal off, sometimes they dont)I paralyze them, and they are left standing there, unable to heal or move, until I decide to Adv Crit and end the suffering. It's fun!
