Thread: Jedi coming down to saber damage

While I do agree that the curb was... erm... Ok. I've been pvping for 80% of the time that i've played the game which is coming up to 2 years now... and I like this statement as a generalisation, but most of the jedi have been full temp for roughly 3 months, if that, due to the massive ease of getting jedi now. I BH with one of my alts and tbh I find it quite sad how downhill the jedi profession has gone, out of the last 18 marks I have done 3 have won, and I put half the victories down to the fact that the jedi don't know how to fight.

I do play on the smallest server, and there is only one formidable BH, but it is rumoured and widely believed he exploits, though tbh I think it's half that he knows a few "work arounds" and half that people are sick of getting killed by him.

I like to believe that there is still some skill left in pvping, and that I do have a certain amount of skill in pvp.

My saber stats: 525-625 damage, i forget dps etc.
I use a nice nym's slugthrower that'll hit a defender for about 500 damage a shot, with my BH, MBH/MCM/carbs4000 with +24 in carb speed tapes.

I had a point when i started this point, dunno if i managed to convey it though. It's basically: At least 50% of the jedi popn. have no idea what they're doing, and there are some who can pvp. Oh and im disappointed with the CU... Oh, and as a side note my main, now my jedi was a BH (tkm/BH) and very very rarely failed to kill his mark pre-cu.

This is not a flame I hope, lol, just some thoughts i'd like to share.

I'm confused. The title of the post says Jedi difficutly come down to the damage from their saber but the statements in your post make it seem you think it comes down to the skill of the player at PvP.

Which do you think it comes down to, the damage of the saber or the skill of the player? Your post seems to contradict the title.

I can concur with this sentiment ... 625 ... not bad ... my alt ... yes folks the defender now spends 90% of his time playing his bh lol ... has 688/204 with only 1 tree of sabre and has frankly never lost to a bh when the computer actually responded lol ... while out grinding my bh i came across lvl 80 jedi with sabres i wouldnt use to butter toast ... have you tuned a crystal lately? ... now from a purely selfish perspective as both a bh and a pre cu jedi, I have no problem with this state of affairs ... but yes sabre [lack of] damage certainly explains why you may find yourself with a higher win/loss ratio ... and untill they get someone half as effective as tanks over there, it's only going to get worse, umm better, umm i'm so confuuused lol

Its abit of both. meaning both skill with temp and also saber damage.

what i mean is. a master defender with a real bad saber is just gonna stand around and let u shoot him while he heals the little damage you can cause him. This is very frustrating as he isnt attacking so not loosing much force. ranged have no AB to negate their natural defenses so its a real boring trip.

Most pre CU jedi that have been pvp'ing a while and have good sabers put up a better fight and if they are master LS pretty much wipe the floor with you.

My jedi is master defender LS 0404 my saber is min 610 max 709 with dps of 520 i think. but with the warm up timer on power attack it still takes a while to damage a good bh fast enough even though i can hit another defender for close on 1200 the last bh that came for me was only being hit for 470 max it just doesnt add up right..

Some bh i kill in about 30 seconds. only 2 have made me run low enough on force to decide to leave. one is the guy mentioned in the original post and the other was a BH with a pvp rating of 1100.

So now i just play my BH because at least that way i know i am gonna win most of my encounters with jedi or at the least draw.

interesting points ... thats a nice sabre these days too ... thing about a good bh is they kite like a demon ... gotta kite boys ... right from when you first start grinding ... its like mech warrior ... just keep moving ... second you stop running and let us wind up power hit you are going straight to the cloner ... was master sabre for 12 hrs during respec period to craft my weapon lol so i dont know much but does dervish have a wind up? I know they kept the kd on sabre throw ... a question from my bh toon ... does using a rifle with a bh/cm toon help you kite better?
