Thread: Your First Day as a Master Bounter Hunter

Ok, use this thread to relay your first day Master Bounty Hunter stories.
So, finally completed my Template (MBH, MRM, CM 4xxx...... Yeh I know, predictable) in the early hours of the morning. Went to bed and woke up full of expectations for my first day hunting Jedi. Oh by the way, this is on my Alt Charachter who will remain anonymous, and I did not re-spec. I worked my way through every single XP point out there.
Anyway, looked up at the terminal in Kadaara, spoke to the informant, sent out my droid and waited, glued to the screen. Naboo is where my mark is. My waypoint is somewhere in Theed. I think to myself that this is my lucky day, he won't notice me in the crowded streets of Theed. I make my way to the Waypoint and find his corpse. LOL. Someone beat me to it. My mission was still active though, so I raced to the Cloning Center and see my target there. Thinking the guy may be loading, I wait outside nervously. I check my equipment (Tantel Armor with over 8000 Energy Protection), ALR (560 -1023 Damage), I quickly eat my food, drink my drinks and inject all sorts of crap into me. Still he doesn't come out of the cloning center. I have him targetted but he hasn't come out. I notice his health go down quite a bit and realise he is fighting in the cloning station. I race in and see him fighting two Imperial Jedi's and instantly (And stupidly) joined them in pummelling this poor Jedi. He screams to the other two "BH on me!!" and they instantly stop fighting and watch as he hits me 3 times with his Lightsaber and Death blows me. Where did I clone? Around 3m from where he was standing. LOL. I bow to him, thank him for schooling me and he tells me I caught him right in the middle of a war. Much respect to the two Imp Jedi's who let us carry our battle out 1 on 1. I walk away with my tail between my legs.
My next mission takes me to Corellia to a small town not too far from Coronet. I catch the shuttle to this town and while loading recieve 3 /duel /cancelduels from different Jedi. So the Jedi knows who my mark is before I do (I was still waiting for my identify droid to return). Element of surprise totally gone. The 3 Jedi's stand there laughing at me while their 4th buddy has presumably dissappeared into a building somewhere or logged off. I get disheartened.
I now get a call from a guild member to help him do the Jedi Exit quest. Help him out with that. WOOT!! I feel better now. One hour before work and time for a quick mission?
I head to Kadaara again, pick up a mission and end up on Tatooine. I shuttle to the waypoint, walk off the shuttle and get 3 more /duel /cancelduel. Are the Devs going to do anything about this game breaking exploit? And there is no way that this can't be considered an exploit. I get flamed from a couple of the jedi's and another of them takes off on a speeder. I jump on mine and we play a cat and mouse game for maybe 15 minutes until my Droid loses it's target. I wait and send out another one. 2 minutes later, I get a waypoint which is back in the town. My mark has positioned herself inside a Rebel base and sends me a tell "I know you are here for me". Damn exploit I think to myself and just before I cancel my mission, she sends me another tell "How much to drop my mission" I told her the mission was for 45k but I wanted compensating for my buffs/droids. She tips me 85k and I drop the mission, sending her a tell thanking her.
I feel better about the whole MBH missions, but I am still uneasy about why I was defeated so easily in my first mission. Yes, I was in a confined space as a rifleman. But I caught him unaware. He destroyed me with great ease. I was nervous (My heart was beating 200 times a minute) and I wasn't really sure what to expect with this being my first pvp encounter but it was a little disheartening.
I have read this forum inside out and took great care picking out my template, weapons, armor and buffs and still got owned?The /duel exploit really really sucks and I can't tell you how many times I got that today. How do they know I am a MBH? I have my charachter unsearchable. Also, if my mark /duels me, do I get a message saying that? Or do I just get a message about the succesful /duels? Anybody got any tips or pointers for me please?
Oh and please post your story about your first day as a MBH.

Yeah, ah, I finished MBH with my KILLER template. Well, it worked for me pre-CU. MBH/4040 Commando/0004 Pistols/0300 Carbines...

1. How do they know you are a MBH? They either use the exploit on everyone or they examine you (proffessions mastered listed in your bio), doesn't matter if your character is searchable or not, or you have a BH tag or weapon.
2. Do you get notified about /deuls? Yes you do however most of the exploiters have it on a macro so they /enddeul almost the same time they /deul you.
As for tips or pointers study the mark before charging in, know what possible specials they might use and how to counter them.
You probably already know all this so I apologize if this seems simplistic to you.

. The one question I had about duels was that if a Jedi /duels you and you have their mission. They get a message saying that they basically can't duel you. Correct?
Do I get a message saying that that Jedi tried to duel me but couldn't?

The reason you died so quickly is because you got ABed and your 8k armor meant nothing. He then hit you with Power Hit and maybe one other damaging attack while you had 0 Defences. G'night.

Yeah, smugglers do.
I really suggest you find the parts you need to get the AB slices. Shock Absorbant Padding x1 and Reactive Micro Plating x1 for each peice you want sliced for AB. Lowers the smuggler's costs considerably... and being a BH, you can probably work out a deal for other sliceing Components instead of payment.
