Thread: So BH love=Congrats you can be PvE farmers now?

As ironic as the fact it takes multiple Jedi to protect a crafter long enough to create a piece of Mando Armor that only MBH, MC, and MSL are certified for.

Not too surprising, though. PVE class interdependancy.
RotW was the writing on the wall.
SW:G is takingsome very EQ2 turns in terms of PVE content. Instanced missions (read as dungeons). Greater (attempts) at class interdependancy (like ranged professions not getting armor break). AI was nerfed, why? Because the devscited PVE concerns. Docs and CM's heal better than Jedi, why? I believe it is so Docs and CM's have a use in PVE.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if SOE starts chucking massive amounts of PVE content in an attempt to lead people off from PVP. From my observations in multiple MMOG's, PVP causes more CSR calls than any other source. Hell, look at how often the BH/Jedi system seems to generate CSR tickets. If a PVE raidtarget beats a hardcore EQ1 guild, they don't go putting in CSR tickets because of it. It's just part of the game.
But when PVP comes around it's "OMG, I just got beat, that can't happen. So-and-so musta 'sploited" for those individuals too gimp to accept they just plain got out-played.
And the other side of it is true too. Think back to the exploits you can remember. How many of them were PVP related, and how many of them were PVE related?
'Sploits means CSR tickets and work. Take a look at SOE's rationale for reversing their years-long stance on game goods being sold for RL dollars. One reason stated had to do with CSR work. The more CSR tickets that are put in, the more CSRs you need. The more CSRs you need the more money youneed to throw at it. 'Sploits or good old-fashioned cry-babyism (yes, it's a real word. I just made it up. Cost ya a buck-fiddy everytime you want to use it.), the result is the same. CSR tickets.
They won't drop PVP support completely. They can't. Putting the genie back in the bottle won't work. But they CAN throw PVE content at you to reduce your PVP time. The more time you spend on PVE pursuits, the less time CSRs need to spend handling PVP disputes.

And you know LN...I think I would be okay to leave the PvP alone for a while. SWG just can't (for some reason at this moment) provide a "real" PvP experience. From lag to combat bugs (KD bug, healing bug), I've never really sure if I kill the enemy, or if the system had something to do with it. I started to figure this out when I was killing NPCs in the MO. I always thought it was funny to hit a level 1 NPC with my Advanced Laser Rifle (1100 max) using Advanced Critical shot, only to see the combat log recorded something like "The corpse of a miner hit Tubeck Idos for 150". I think that says a lot about the "combat system" of SWG as it is. Adding the element of actual players only complicates the matter more, and quite possibily to the point of complete frustration.
I lost yet another Jedi mission last night to a KD bug that lasted almost a full 20 seconds....and this was 15 minutes into the fight....I can't keep wanting to quit this game everyday or oneday I will, and I get so upset becuase it has SO much potential IF IT WOULD JUST WORK CORRECTLY! I guess that's what bothers me the most.
As for NPC BH mission loot drops...only two things concern me:
How often
How rare (or useful)
I don't want my rare loot to be a legendary CDEF pistol with a SAC of 200.

Well reading some other threads seem to indicate this may in fact be Pub 21. I'd like to see that officially, but if it's true that kinda stinks.
Id have to ask what did you expect? Im just curious now after looking at this and thinking this patch looks pretty decent.

Cool, so BH and Jedi group together as happy friends and then they go hunting together and hug and laugh and share cake and smell flowers while killing and looting and the forums are healed and well, im so happy that i could cry.

They could possibly even marry and have children. Wouldn't that be sooo cute? I get goose bumps thinking about it. Hopefully they can implement hop scoth as well so Jedi and BH can hold hands while doing something totally exciting in game.

This is to get us used to PVE for when they takeJedi bounties out of the game altogether. This is the first step towards not being able to hunt Jedi.
I think your right. Carebear us up for the worst blow to us. *sigh* I tried pve with some other mbh the other day when we got sick of the terms, i didnt realize you could suck at it lmao.

After looking at the entirety of the patch notes, I'd say it's pretty decent as well. Though I still don't understand why they had to create a whole ruleset for simply getting in a vehicle. They could have just given us an "auto decline ride offer" in Options, and the accompanying slash commands to turn it on/off. *shrug*

But..that would make sense, and be easy...are you really surprised?

And wouldn't satisfy people who have complained about a player escaping them in PVP.
