Thread: Cool Jedi...

So far I've hunted about 10 jedi. I've had ahouse sitter, had to drop a couple of missions due to same faction (before pub 20) but I've been pretty lucky that most of the Jedi I've run into have been really cool. I had one guy call me "Pathetic noob" despite having him on the run for about 5 minutes before I ran out of action and he ganked the living heck outta me with a sword. (Didn't even use his lightsaber.)

Other than that, I've always gotten "good fight," etc... and usually strike up a conversation. But last night was the coolest guy ever. I track him to Tatooine. Find him in the middle of the desert near Ft. Krayt. I stop about 400m out , take cover and start to crawl slowly towards his position. My seeker keeps updating that he's pretty much in the same place just over a dune. I figure he's gone into a house and I'm going to have another house-sitter.

Suddenly, the WP jumps from 300m to 900m. ARGH! He's on the move. I hop on my speeder and find him in Ft. Krayt with a hunting group at the mission terminal. I set up my bomb droid, get about 60m from him and send the droid over to blow him up. I hit my armor macro and equip my rifle... and make my first mistake. As my droid is on the way I attempt to scroll to my set of hotkeys that I use for dueling/hunting. The scroll button sticks and ends up clicking on some random icon and I fire at him. This ejects him from his speeder and I knock him down... after this, an amazing thing happened. My rifle never fired again. I got a couple of bacta shots off but that's not way to win a fight.

Soon he was killing me withhis friend cheering him on.

I send him a tell laughing at the fact that my rifle never fired and we end up talking. Complete respect both ways. He was really impressed with how I got the jump on him. How I didn't just ride up on my swoop, jump off and start firing. The fact that I used a bomb droid, etc...

We talk for a while and I eventually go AFK while in the nearest Starport. (Had to finish up "Medium" with my girlfriend.) I come back to see someone standing there bowing to me. It's my Jedi. He asks if I'm hunting him again. LOL. Then he says how he feels bad because we use so much money to track them down but when we fail we don't get paid. Then he tips me his bounty. I wish I could remember his name but that's about the coolest thing I've run into.

Oh yes, LOL, and once he did that, he says, "good luck." then cloaks. Just disappeared. LOL! That was brilliant!

Most of the marks I've hunted have been respectful. It's one of the reasons I continue to be a Bounty Hunter. Good fights. Good friends. Good times.

May the Force be with you.

I've had that happen a couple of times recently. After a jedi runs away, they ask how much was my mission and tip it to me. I try to tell them i'm not in it for the credits, but they go ahead anyway.

I guess the moral is a good jedi can appreciate a good BH and vice versa. So I'm always nice until they aren't. Of course you just have to ignore the jedi's friends most of the time.
