hiyas, sorry if this has been stated already or not. I was wandering if MBH/MCom would do decently in taking marks and jedi. or how bout MBH/Msmug?

MBH/MSmug is a fun temp to play, the down side to it is that you take a major hit on acc and speed and a pretty good knock on your defense as well. something i liked to do though was invest in commando xx1x to get the RL.
hit concussion shot with the RL equipped and you have a jedi on the ground for 40 seconds, just send in your bomb droid followed by crit shot and you're off to a good start

Commando is quite worthless ATM. They have *no* specials. Their ability is to use AOE weapons which are only going to arrgo everything is a 100m radius (exaggerating of course
).
BH/Smuggler is -ok-. Last ditch can be brutal if it lands... Feign Death can be good in PvE... They also have a good debuff shot that lets specials stick more... But all in all I personally feel BM/smuggler is overshadowed by templates like MBH/MR with pistols 0-0-0-3 (for the root) and medic 0-2-0-0 (with +25 BE clothes this means heals that come close to a CM 4-0-0-0).
But then again, if you really like the smuggler aspect of the game then by all means go for the BH/smuggler! It just wont be as good as other templates for Jedi hunting

I really wanted to try a MBH/MCommando template due to the nice defense stats and what looked to be very nice damage, but it just wasn't practical. First,Commando has hardly any worthwhile specials. Second, leveling and playing with Commando weapons is nearly impossiblebecause you agro just about everything or do low damage. Commando is great in a strong group that can handle a lot of agro, but as a Jedi hunting profession its too limited in my opinion.

i agree ... its not a good combo to use against jedi ... but i say screw hunting jedi and go with whats fun ... go for it .. the PvE will be fun as heck with commando .. the stuff you get to use never gets boring ... plus you can craft with it .. very fewcombat professions can ...
i think a fun as all heck template would containmaster commando/combat medic ..

Thanks for the replies, I didn't know that their weapons had a large aggro radius. i may try the Mcommando/Combatmedic..... hehe i just remember playing with the pistol launcher near beginning of the game even tho i wasnt a novice commando to use it , was quite fun and drawed crowds back then (:

In my experience it seems like a fairly useless temp against Jedi. But I can easily hold my own against NPC marks (I need a bit of food but thats par for the course). Plus I love being a commando and I love the weapons Iget. I'm not going to drop it despite all its faults. Tip you can get a Corellian Destroyer (Rifle) which gives heavy weapons xp but dosent agro. Its max dmg of 500 I think but its better than Launcher Pistol. Either that or use a Heavy Beam Cannon (it fires a straight line through enemies so as long as there is nothing behind your target you won't cause agro)
