Thread: Keep bounties alive... a suggestion

I think this is an obvious suggestion, and it should be implimented... Bounty hunters should be able to capture their bountys alive and take them in their multi-passenger ships back to the bounty giver... Live bounties should be worth more credits. And the jedi should be rewarded with a lesser experience penalty if they are safely delivered to the bounty-giver (thus giving them insentive not to log off and spoil your bounty)... But they would be given the full experience penalty if they log off or if the bounty isn't completed. And the bounty-hunter is rewarded the same credit amount as if the target would have been killed, instead of the extra amount for returning a target alive. This would be easily implimented, and would be a benefit to both Jedi and Bounty hunters, not to mention having role-playing benefit...

Although I would love to see something like this, it is simply too hard to implement, especially when you are talking about SWG Devs running the show...

What would be hard about it to impliment... There is very little programming to do here... It is the same as delivering a NPC to a safe point.

how do you control the other player?

What happens when they loose power or thier ISP goes down and they are forced to lose the XP by auto-logging off?

They lost the fight, and would have lost the same amount ofexperience if the BH would have DBed them instead of Drugging and Binding them, so LD jedi just have to take the full experience penalty. Just because the new system OPENS up the possibility for less exp penalty, doesn't mean it guarantees it...

Here is why it is not a good idea.

  • I capture my bounty (player Jedi)

  • I take him on my multipassenger ship.

  • I decide to do a little crafting.

  • 3 hours later I go check in on my cargo to make sure he is ok for the delivery.

  • I go back and do a littlemore crafting.

  • I go AFK to eat something. Damn. Nothing in the fridge so I will have to hit my local McDonald's.

  • I get back and check on my cargo.

  • Girlfriends calling. BRB I need to go AFK again. Wait. Shes coming over. I will be back later. <turn the monitor off>

  • come back 2 hours later and tell my player Jedi captive "Time to collect on my bounty"

  • Head down to the Bounty giver and hand Jedi over.

  • Player Jedi is free to go with only some XP loss.

Hmm. You know what?I actually like this idea. Lets do it.
