Ok, this has been bugging me since my first hunt of a jedi, not because I lost that first one, or the fact that I've lost the 3 I've done since then, but because I can never seem to get a jedi's health below 90%. I normally start off with Stopping Shot, then go to Torso, then Critical, Body, Aimed, then Underhand to knock them down, and most times by the time they are able to get back up, I am already able to root them agian. Yet it still does NOTHING for me. If someone can please help me figure this out, I'd be ever grateful. Here are the stats of what I am using.

MBH

MP (Should I drop for Rifles and keep stopping shot?)

Ubese Armor - 7k vs energy 5k vs kinetic 6k base

HC Scatter

Kinetic

Speed: 1.8 My Speed: 1.09

Damage: 302-840 Accuracy Bonus: 17

Wound: 29.32% My DPS: 523.33/sec SAC: 65

Now, here is what shows on my char sheet

Offense: Speed: 115

Accuracy: 212

Defense: Melee: 283

Ranged: 306

Can someone tell me if I am just using the wrong equipment or what?

well i havent went after a jedi yet but i've been told to use bomb droids to start my attack. look into that i would say for starters. then i would sy keep him rooted/snarled and kite.

oh and i just noticed your scatter is 100 off cap damage which is 948. get a better gun, you need more punch for a jedi. also get you armor sliced against armorbreak for when he gets to you.

Ok first off you need to get a better weapon. Your best bet is to grab a High Capacity Scatter or Featherweight FWG5 that is damage capped and very low sac (preferably under 70). The lower SAC will allow you to attach a Damage Powerup to your weapon which will jack up it's minimum damage which is one of the most important aspects whenever fighting Jedi due to high defenses. Their Ranged Defense is so much higher than your ranged accuracy so you'll be doing close to the base damage of your weapon more often than not.

Secondly, try to get better armor. Ubese is Recon right? You should be able to get some of that with 8000+ Energy resistance. Personally I run with 7112 Energy resist armor but that's only because I'm only certed for Battle Armor. Also, remember to get your armor Armor Break sliced to prevent Jedi from hitting you excessively hard.

Last tip I can give you is to pick up some Healing Abilities with your template as this is a necessity. No matter how good your armor you will need to heal and constantly. Your best bet is to go Combat Medic 4000 with that template.

I sometimes do not fight like I advise but that has come with getting more experience, whatI recommend here is what you should do for the first 10 kills or so, then you can start to develop your own style and tactics....

1. only attack if you have achieved complete and utter surprise.(meaning you can frontload a alot of damage, getting a clean KD, followed up by a Torso , ADV Crti combo, followed by stopping shot , Torso, ADV crit combo as an example. This will guarantee the jedi to be in a defensive position after the the first strike. You have forced him to think of only two things at this point, running or healing first AND then coming after you.

2. Only engage if the Jedi, in addition to being completely surprised, is not buffed or his force is down, or he is engaed by MOBS or creatures. Even if you achieve utter surprise like #1 above but the jedi is not in a tough spot (in other words he is buffed and not distracted or engaged by other PvE activities) you can still lose dramatically even if you cause massive damage before reaction, so DON'T engage and follow this rule.

If you follow these two rules and drop the mission whenever you can not engage with these parameters, you will achieve success . There is nothing wrong in doing this. This is the BH way and Jedi's are 1.5 stronger for this reason.

3. Learn about foods and how they best compliment your personal template, seek out high energy resit armor, slice it for Armor break if possible. Find a good weapon with high damage that you can slice for speed. Add a power up to the weapon to let it produce even more damage (so cap damage with weaponsmith and Power up, slice speed).

4. Add a duelist macro this will help alot as well, here is one I found on this forum:

/alarmaddin 0 0 STOP, DUELIST!!
/pause 1;
/macro Duelist

If this is first time hunting jedi's good luck. You are giong to have to learn how to kill them. For most of the templates your best bet is a first strike. This is basically send a bomb droid at them and just before it blows up (when you see the 1 over the droid) you start the attack. I usually will start of with a KD so that bomb droid does more damage. then a advanced crit and then head/leg/torso shot and then most likely a root. Usually at this point I need to heal. Due to timers on healing if you are low on health I use a macro that uses a stim and then I 4000cm and so I use a bacta shot.

The hardest template you can run into is someone who has master defender and knows how to fight. If this is the case and you are unable to kill them in the intial strike get ready for either a very short death, or a very long drawn out battle that will pretty much destroy your armor by the time its done. Usually if I get a mdef I wait for them to either get low on health if they are helping others grind or if they are pvp/dueling I just wait till there incapped or at least you need 1 shot to finish them off.

Good luck with BH and have fun
