Thread: New players should not have an alt

It sounds fair for those pre CU 2 to keep 2nd alt, and NO alt for post CU players. I consider myself as a casual player not power grinders (look at my registration date, over 2 yrs). It tooked me forever to seek out and did holocron grinds (16 professions mastered), I did not unlock my Jedi till the village came in play. I really took my time to grind it out. It took me 1.5 yr to unlock my Jedi, and only 40 days to get from paddy to full temp (cuz I had a summer off, I played5 hrs a day grinding, I think). Thats millions of xps grinded, of course I think the 2nd toon given to me is well deserved. My 2nd character is MBH+Mcarb+4000CM + FS skills (thats a lot of grind too).

Why will Post CU 2 player needed an alt? What have they achieved? (nothing). No more BHs hunting Jedi, thus, no alt need to be given out (many ppl played their alt when they cannot play their Jedi when BH comes). For veterans, they deserve to keep their alt. My current Jedi has 605-702 dmg +210 elem dmg. I am going to be trading $10 in and be handing back $3 + peppermint candy as reward when CU 2 hits. If you are an achieved Jedi, you lose a lot of when CU 2 arrives. IF you are a weak Jedi now, or post CU 2 player. You have a lot more things to gain than lose.

To whoever playered 2 yrs and still NO Jedi, and will NOT be getting an alt... I really do not know what to say to you... It only tells me you did NOT put into the work as most of others, and certainly, you really, do not deserve an alt. If you played 2 yrs, and NEVER pursuit for Jedi, you never wanted an alt from the 1st place, so why asking for one now? Is it cuz you see the easy way in as Jedi?

Too many lazy whiners...

PS, I will miss kicking BHs' @sses with my Jedi. No trouble with any BHs at all. Longest fight lasted 4min 25sec (Zergone, best fight I had), shortest was 10sec. To most of BHs I have met/killed. 90% of BHs have class. No trash talking but a lot of complements. Good bye BHs (Oh yes, good bye to Jedi too)... Things will NOT be the same.

Everyone deserves an alt simply because template dabbling is not possible anymore, but don't expect SOE to hand them out. If people want one bad enough they will get a second account, like I did before jedi. And as you can see by MY forum date, I had no reason to reg on the forums before that date, lol.

Yes, plz allow me to add in... another reason why newbies cannot have an alt is ... so that you will need to buy another account. Clever SOE, another way to make profit.

PS, I also had to reason to use this forum till August 12th, lol.

I still have the receipt and the $80 deluxe box ^_^ which dated all the way back to June 28th, 2003 !!! yay.

Mixed feelings I have about this..

While yes I did the jedi grind and got the alt, I feel it is unfair that I get nearly nothing in return except a couple "special abilities", a elder tag and 10 more combat lvls (I will enjoy the additional lvls).. but for those that have played as long as me and chose another life style, this is not fair.

Further more, I not only have a jedi alt, but pay for a second account that is a MBH as well.. so that is $60 a month for over 11/2 years. I would love to have an alt for my MBH account. However with the new system of classes and not being able to change professions, I think everyone should get atleast one alt, every other game that I have played with a class like this can have multiple characters. I simply think it is unfair for anyone not to have an alt if they can only choose one class for the life time of a character.... including new members that may join in the future.

each person has thier opinion about the upgrade and this topic and to each thier own, but these are just my thoughts on this topic.

really.. one toon was never an issue. But now.. one class and no turning back.Having to delete my toon just because I changed my mind is kinda harsh.

oh and I have also played for 2+ years and am not jedi and still will never play jedi in swg.

<-------

also.. this new lvl 90 deal, is that for pre CU2 players only? If so then not a lot of new players I would think. I sure wouldnt buy a game that I could in no way reach the cap.

Wow. So Jedi are the only important ones in the game atm? I sure hope you don't buy food or drink or spice or ship parts or Crystals orfurniture or houses or armor (for your BH alt who I just creamed my fatigues cuz I'm the same as you!! down to FS) or weapons or any number of other things that I cant think of at 5:50 in the morning.

And to say that those persons that have played as long as youyet did not CHOOSE to become Jedi are insignificant and they "did NOT put into the work as most of the others" (which should be edited for content, but not at this time) is appalling. I cant say more than that without flying off the handle.

It's not about the "Never wanted an alt in the first place" because we didnt get Jedi, it's the fact that when this rolls, we can't adapt or change ANYTHING. Yeah, I can respect 9 times. Then I'm locked. How many times have you changed your mind?

I, for one, like the fact that I have 9 attempts, but if I were just starting and read the box and it said I get 1 account with 1 char per server, I would buy EQ2 or WoW.

Not being able to change professions without deleting an account will kill new sales of this game... trust me on that.

Forget all the other silly moves this 'enhancement' brings... that is the dumbiest...

I am going to keep my 10 respecs... and at most check out spy.... but other than that I will keep the respecs.. eventually LA/SOE will realize there mistake on this point and allow people to switch professions without deleting the character...

As for alts.... who needs em... now that there is no more decay.... buy one set of clothes.... with CAs or armor with AAs... one nice weapon and or saber... and you are done....

The game based economy will die.... eventually I predict if you want something like a new ship... or shipparts... you will buy them from an NPC.... same with weapons and armor.

I was describing the new changes versus the old ones to a friend the other day. He didn't know anything about MMO's and the first thing he asked when he found out we'd be locked into our professions was if we would have multiple characters per server.

Anyone with even a degree of intelligence would know that it's a bad idea to lock players into one profession and not provide at least one alt. My friend figured it out within 5 minutes and he's never touched a single MMO.
