Thread: Question to BH's

yesterday I had a bh come for me just after a lair when I was VERY low on force she hit me from about 60m out with a rifle I moved a bit from my group and cloaked to regen force but told the bh I would fight and that running was not my intent. I then waited for the bh tef to go away (having regened up to about 65% force)so that the bh could again have first strike, then I uncloaked about 20m away and we fought. The bh was cool and didn't have a problem with it but since this was the first time I had ever done it I was wondering if this would be viewed negativly by the bh community. Before I got jedi I did grind bh 4 times to master but never got into hunting jedi so I can't judge from experience.

it is the games mechanice to fight how you like, I for one have 2 BH's and a jedi, and when a BH comes for me I do the same +CLOAK+ and wait for the moment to attack.

First thing first.....

You have a right to do what you did... so I dont have a problem with it...

HOWEVER.... I HATE THAT...

Why? Well IMHO it takes the whole 'stalking' part of being a BH away.... I mean if I stalk you... and strike at the right time and then 'poof' you 'hide' until you are ready to fight.... to me that takes that 'stalking' part away from the BH...

As a ranged (rifles) BH it is easy for someone with cloak to do what you did... heck... I dont want to get close to you... that is the whole point of being a ranged BH.... but if I dont you can disappear..

I dont really know what the answer to the riddle is... but to me this takes a bit of the fun away...

To repeat.... I have no problem with what you did at all....

Well, as you wrote it there isn't much she could have done about it. She attacked you from 60m, and you cloaked. Perhaps if her alpha strike was better you'd not have survived. I'd have waited until your aura/armor was about to go then hit you with states to break the macro loop and unleash the gates of hell from my rifle on you.

Maybe you'd still have gotten away, maybe not.

Did you beat her? BTW, I don't have a problem with that you did. I don't look negatively on it. It's your right, either way, to stay and fight. But you can't expect every BH to simply LET you regenerate your force because it's "the right thing to do"

yeah i beat her, but the only thing i did while cloaked was regen force i didn't load up on foods or anything like that and I didn't sneak attack her as I waited for the bh tef to go away so she could attack when she was ready. Thanks for the feedback guys I just don't want to add to the bh/jedi hate and nerf cycle by abusing the system.

As the others have said, its your ability to use as you want. The main thing that makes it a frustrating tactic is when you already shoot the jedi, the jedi is tef'd and they cloak and run away. The jedi should have to lose the tef before being able to cloak. I hunted a jedi the other night that was very good at this. He would get a kd in, stasis me then run, once he got away he cloaked. I would track him down and hammer on him, rinse repeat. The only frustrating part was when he was within pistol range and i was shooting him he would cloak and run off. Was fun though, I chased him all over the galaxy, from lok to corellia and over half of mustafar, before we ended it in a draw.

cloak and stasis are good escape tactics, they just need tweaked a little bit. The tef issue is my only problem with it. If they see you coming and dissapper into cloak, good on them, but when u are shooting them they shouldnt be able to cloak, till the break tef.

Making the jedi not able to cloak while TEF'd, I don't think is very fair. If they can get out to cloak range, then shame on you for letting them. Perhaps the minimum cloak range could be looked at? What is it, 20m? The rifleman range is 40 for cover, perhaps that would be a better alternative?

The Jedi spent a lot of time grinding out the 3mil xp to get cloak, it'd be a shame to nerf it like that simply because it's preceived as "not fair"

Cloak is allready getting/gotten the nerf stick with the snare added to it. They can cloak while BH TEF'd, but they won't get very far.

to add to this as a tip I recomend a droid, I can't cloak with a droid following me and if you are a CM you can use your bacta toss to keep the droid on its feet. I had a bh do this to me before and it was tough for me to get to cloak range, after knocking down his droid and having him heal it a few times I got fed up fought him on his terms and lost. Its a good tactic for you guys

Nice tip! I never thought of that. Though, I never really run into cloakers all that often.

bmill shame on me for letting him get out to a range where he can cloak ...................lol

the jedi was 10 m away from me.........yeah my bad for not standing in his hip pocket...........

And them being able to cloak while you are shooting them is bogus, i'll give you that if they can get out of weapons range they should be able to cloak, but not while they are getting shot. And if they use the right tactics it wouldnt be hard for em to get out of weapons range.

Like i said earlier i think cloak is a good ability for them to have, especially for them to escape, but there are some issues with it.

Well if he cloaked on you from 10m then that was lag I have to be 20-30m from anything to be able to cloak.

Couple times i could see it being lag, cause he was running away. But a few times he just stood there after he cloaked and regened force right next to me. Who knows could be a bug, it was on mustafar when it happened.

I think the cloak distance should be changed....

40-45 meters seems about right....

It is currently 20meters and to me that is wrong... It negates the 'ranged' advantage.
