Thread: Small Proposal To Keep Player Bounties With Risk&Reward System

This would not be a form of forced PVP. I read devs are implementing an additional 10 combat levels for veterans, upping the maximum combat level to 90. My proposal would be making the maximum combat level for all players be dropped to 80. Once a player reached level 60 they would have the options to be bh mark capable. This would automatically add 10 CL to their CL. These players would recieve appropriate defenses, speed, and accuracy for their increased level. However these additional bonus's would come at a risk...the player could be put on the bounty hunter terminals by someone creating a player bounty on them, or by killing factional NPC's. Smugglers could also be placed on in this system through smuggling missions, and Bounty Hunters could be placed on if they chose the additional CL and failed a certain number of bh missions.



Pros



  • Additional combat levels added

  • No "forced pvp" ;player could choose at any time to be available for this system or not

  • Player created bounties without cause for concern in crafters

  • Bounty Hunters have a form of content

  • Bounty Hunters have a penalty for failed missions.

  • Additional combat levels aren't limitted to veterans

there are going ot be pvp missions and quests that will take the place of player bounties.

read some of hte stuff about rangers & the steal skill that was posted a couple weeks back. looks like most of the ranger stuff got rolled into snuggler. one person gets an object to deliver, the other gets a mission to kill the 1st guy and recover the object to deliver it somewhere else.

that was the one thing they mentioned, but i will bet there are more types of pvp quest in the wings.

Being hunted when you dont want to be is just like being ganked. You say you don't like pvp because its a gank fest yet your perfectly willing to be the "ganker".


Denying content to those that don't want to be ganked seems absurd, hence its not going to happen.

nope, no non-con pvp. I like pvp, but when i wnt to do other things, I dont want to be harassed. Make Jedi 2x powerful in the new Cu and sure you can have your non-con pvp back. Until then, no way jose.

something to think about.. Forget the game aspect for a minute. The game is run on numerous servers, with 1000's of people doing 1000's of things at once. That said, asking the system to check to see if everyone on, is a consenting target or not, every x amounts of seconds, is adding to the already overloaded system and would make the lag even worse. Player bounties are gone. Let it go.. They are looking to lauch it soon, you really think they will go backwards? As said by others, if you like the idea of those wishing to be hunted, go spec ops. Like garva said, petitions, rants etc, are wasted..

How about risk missions that can yeild high end loot (if there is any , this does sound like a game killer "upgrade" but if u take the missions then u get same thing as jedi vis and online timer countes down logout timer stops and Bh who opt that option will go to there board)


jedi bh was best thing going hate comes from the xp loss dont want to be hunted dont take missions.


I hate general pvp upon a day was ok but just gank fest and now sanctioned by SOE with SL Guess theres always guild war but hunting and be hunted most exciting thing in this unpolished turd
