I killed a jedi the other day(well he was severlly ganked by other jedi) and my PvP raiting dropped like 50 points? How is that possible? I won he did!

Could be the Jedi was a respec masterand had negative PvP rating lol. Not sure though, does sound strange.

you are probably just incorrect about your assumptions of your previous rating.

No because before he got capped I killed a AFK jedi on Kashyyk my PvP raiting was adjusted to 1438, after the 2nd jedi got kiled by the gank squad(which I did get PvP raiting credit for) my rating was adjusted to 1378.

Well, your rating is partly based off the amount of damage you did. So it could be a bug from being so severly out-damaged that instead of getting the normal fraction of a point you get for just "hitting" someone, that you got negative. I've gone down in a group fight before after dervishing once and had my rating adjusted to the same level 15 times in a row as they all die off, then gone and killed someone in a one-on-one fight that lasted a while and gone up like 8 points. This is why I like to play with BH's or jedi thatI fightbefore I kill them.
