Thread: Template Check
Just wanted to check your impressions of a template, see if you think it'd be any good for PvP and anti-Jedi stuff:
Bounty Hunter 3400
Carbineer 0402
Rifleman 4004
The basic idea being strong Carbineer accuracy + knockdowns + action bleeds combined with Rifleman mind bleeds and ranged DB plus composite-penetrating headshots. Think it'd work out OK?

BH 3/4/0/0
Master Rifleman
I've actualy thought about this recently. And I would agree...cept I would go prone 64m away do fkd/dizzy and then mindshot to death then ranged db. Never get within sabre range.
(thinking about dusting off my rifle anyway)
I know that Tazim's is feasible. I recommended it as an option to someone else earlier as well...
The reason why I wouldn't go Master Rifleman is that you really don't need it. The Carbineer skills give you sufficient area attacks if those are needed, and it'd be very helpful to have the excess speed and accuracy from Carbineer to land the knockdowns a BH uses. Whereas just those two lines of Rifleman significantly up the speed and the accuracy of the rifles, and give some promising damage potential besides.
This is probably the only template that I would guess could get through most of the ranged defense stacking of optimax characters these days, and it's flexible enough to be good against a number of builds. And think about the Jedi powers - they can cure a bleed in a pool with a single use of a Force skill - this build gives you both an action and a mind bleed capability, allowing you to make them heal more to survive the fight.
This'd go well in a hunting team with a suppression/overwatch person and a tracker, I'd think. The main job for this build is to keep the Jedi down and bleeding, while the tracker tries to make the fast kill and the overwatch guy keeps anyone from intervening in the Jedi's favor...
Do-able, if your playstyle supports it.
copied from one of my earlier replies:

I just dropped charge shot tree to try out the left two lines...and I like fire KD just fine (keep in mind I'm always buffed so its HAM cost doesn't matter much)
I'm going to go with the two left-hand side trees of Carbineer (either 3/4/0/0 or 4/3/0/0)...the thinking here is that I want to lay down as much devastating power in as little time as possible for support...
Most people love chargeshot, but heres some things that I didn't like about it (remember, just an opinion....hopefully you'll get some others with the things they like about it and you can judge for yourself):
A. After all the playing time with my BH specials, I couldn't get used to the animation that goes with chargeshot...sounds weird, but it really threw a kink in my timing lol
B. Can't use it while kneeling/prone
C. (this sounds like a plus for chargeshot, but read on) There is no timer...I have a gut feeling this will be changed, this is based on no formal information, it's just a feeling I have, so I don't want to get used to a shot that I will end up surrendering because it's about the same as my BH carb specials...
Also, I gave up Counter-insurge tree...the defenses just didn't add up enough to give u valuable offensive lines...the onl thing I ever need them for are the uber defense-stacked combat PvP templates these days, and guess what, they're not enough anyways against those guys...if you can't hit them hard at first, there's not a defense that'll save your tail
Hope this helps, these types of template-opinion threads are extremely helpful (usually)
Strongarm, MBH - Kauri
Umpa, MWS/MAS - Kauri
If I were to dabble:
BH 3/4/0/0
Master Rifleman
Hunt the Jedi, FKD + Dizzy, shoot a medium AP weapon once a second with area attacks and with the Rifleman accuracy bonuses on the last few publishes hit even at melee range. I might even be tempted to try this for funzies on another server
.
How would the following work?
Master Carbineer
4400 Bounty Hunter
Novice Brawler
0043 Pistoleer
Master Marksman
4000 Scout
Or.. since im TKM already, is that my best bet?

Take a look at my template, feel free to offer your feedback:
MBH/MCarbineer/MMarksman
Scout 4,0,0,0
Pistols 0,0,0,4
Novice Brawler - (why do i have this again?)
3 skill points avail.
Please be brutal.
thanks
Drop that Brawler, and get Novice Medic. If you can sacrifice the Rifle line in Marksmen, put those points in more Pistoleer or Medic.
Master Sabers
Defender 3-3-2-0
Healer 4-0-0-0
Enhancer 0-0-0-2
powers 4-0-0-0
This gives me MLS, aura, force lightning, some inate armor, 1500 heals, and channel. I'm guessing it will work well in PvE but will i be very good at pvp? I know not having drain will hurt me a bit.
