I had a little bit of time, about an hour-and-a-half, to play around with Publish 20 last night.
I'm in the midst of a re-grind, and although I'm CL 80 by some miracle, I don't have enough of either the profession I'm shifting away from or the one I'm shifting towards to be truly effective. But I thought, what the hell...

#4 -- TARGET IS ONLINE! WOOOOOOT! ...but is on Kashyyyk. I look at the clock, and realize that the time I have to hunt is less than the time that would take.

I had to take a break for about an hour and a half at this point.

I jump to Theed, and hit tab a few times. He's 30m over to my right, and OVERT. I crack my knuckles and wait for the right time. He runs around and is killing anything that moves. He doesn't seem to be taking any damage though...
I look at his buff icons. Force Infusion and a +250 Force Aura. So he's NOT MDefender.
He attacks an NPC Dark Trooper and I make my move. Turns out he's MLS, but his saber's not that good. He also has quite a bit of healing in his template--he seems to clear states faster than they should clear on their own. After a 10-minute fight, I finally start to wear him down when some overt Rifleman runs up and starts shooting him too. I get KD'd and by the time I get up, the rifleman has /db'd him.
At this point I think it's just dumb luck, another BH has stepped in and gotten the kill. Icheck my datapad and the mission is still there and he's cloned and 40m away. 2 minutes later, the Jedi is dead AGAIN, and I'm up 226k. He attempted an exploit (which I will not name) to escape again, but it failed him.

But if he tried to use an exploit to get away then if we don't know what it is we will be unable to tell if a mark in the future is doing the same thing.

I feel for you. My fifth mission finally stuck. Went to the Science Outpost on Dath. person is standing 30m from me, wait and watch. The person is a MDEF with from what I can tell MLS, this is because he started dueling another Jedi. After the first fight, they fought one last time, I run in, underhand shot, and DB. Then I just trot off back to my ship. Should mention that I am only a CL 68. The person sends me a tell, telling me to come back and duel him, I know it wasn't exactly honorable, but I used the system to my advantage. Next time the Jedi should duel at a place a little more private.

As a BH, I'm not there for the fight, I'm there for the kill. Charging in head-first will get you sent to the cloner. Often.
So I wait. And I wait. And I wait. Sometimes the opportunity doesn't present itself. Usually it does. Ifa Jedi's out in public flashing his saber, he's usually looking for either GCW-based PvP or a duel.
My kill rate is probably 80-90%, whenI am patient and time my attack right. I'm not an ultra-bajillionaire. I don't have uber equipment, my equipment is average and it's not even sliced. I don't eat 20 different foods before and during the fight. Brandy andCanape, and a doc buff when Ican get one, and that's it.
When I choose to "frontal assault" instead,my success ratemore like 5-10%.
So you can attack right away, with a 10% chance of 225k (average payout 22.5k), or wait a little while with a 90% chance of 225k (average payout 202.5k). So I'm making an average of 180k each time I keep my cool and bide my time.

your kill is totally honorable. you are a BH, we are not expected to fight "fair". Good work

Exactly. That's what some BH's get and some don't. This is a prime example of a BH using his ability to decide "when and where" the fight starts like the devs keep telling us to do. Not post on the forums a million times for nerfs. We aren't supose to go toe-to-toe with a full templet jedi. It makes no sense. We do however, have the ability to deal that first (and if timed right, last) crutial shot that determines the jedi's faite. You are right to have killed him "showing off" and then not offer him a duel after. Ofcourse he would probably kick the snot out of you, though there are a few one-on-one BH templets out there. You should be focused on taking the best shot at killing your mark.
