Pre-patch = +160 def. Now = +250 def. Quite a jump. Has anyone noted a difference during combat? It seems to me that it has had a VERY minimal impact if any at all.

Observations?

well if they make it reflect a % of dmg then you can easily solo DJK by jus letting them hit you and heal...since they hit for less dmg now you can survive like 1-2 hits

i dont think they will make it a % cause of this.

but it does suck that it has a cooldown timer cause using it as a macro sucks because the timer messes up your rate of fire.

edit:

also the return fire should jus be taken out completely because it sucks when you are using it and mobs are shooting at you and then you go to mez them the mez breaks because they shot at you right before mez landed so it breaks the mez.

You do realize when it says return fire you take no damage right? Dont know about you guys but i see return fire all the time which means im not getting hurt much at all with it going. And when i do get hit it does mitigate some damage.

Hmm never noticed that. However, return fire is only seen vs Ranged NPC's ...that LS / Melee still get through.

I notice a very large difference... I feel naked without it on, anytime I get to a place in battle where I can afford to stop moving I turn it on.

i see a slight drop a few points of damage almost not even worth it im at 300 melee defense already from tapes. ITd be nice for them to bump it up some more or increase the damage reflected to a percentage rather than just a fixed 25 damage wich is almost worthless. Also they really should make this skill useable on the fly its already got a warm up timer on it.

I just dont see a difference between then and now....maybe it is a matter of diminishing returns. Standing toe to toe with an NPC, stance on or off, I see no difference. Let alone a difference between the old 160 to the now 250 bonus. They still hit for the same damage.

What exactly is it supposed to do? Reduce damage? Reduce hit probability?

250 bonus to def I would like to think would be a SERIOUS impact to defence, and thus have a very NOTICABLE difference.

What am I missing?

a lot ofmid level npcs will only use one attack repeatedly now, stand there and let one shoot you for 30 seconds then turn on duelist stance, you'll notice a lot more misses and a lot less damage, or also have a friend duel you to accomplish the same effect

From what I understand, the +250 is added onto your armor, not to your melee defense. Because of the way armor works now, it reduces less damage if you're wearing great armor than if you're wearing poor armor.

Is there a reliable macro to use for this, like COB?

Thanks

incorrect. it adds +250 to melee and ranged defense

my experience is that it can help some if a lot of mobs are attacking you (agroed too many from a lair)

the 160 defense bumped to 250 defense made it go from being totally worthless, to kind of handy to have sometimes.

not really useful against jedi in my experience. standing still for the warmup means they are running up to you. better to stay out of range than mitigate 11 points of damage when the saber swipes at you.

i find i only really use it if the jedi has me rooted, so the warmup doesn't bother me really
