I am considering changing my template from MBH/Rifles4x44/CM4xx4 to the template in the title of this thread. What I am wondering is what would be the best pistol to use with my targeted template. I know that some of the FWG5s do decent damage (as well as being kinetic) but the SAC costs tend to be relatively high. The pistol that I'm thinking would be best for use is a High Capacity scatter with decent damage. I am currently looking at a HCS with a damage range of 400-900 damage (slightly higher max but not sure of exact value) and a SAC of 84. Would this be a good pistol to use?
-Edit-
Actually I just went through my inventory and realized I'm carrying a High Capaciy Scatter Pistol with a minimum damage of 436 and a max damage of 831. Would this pistol be better than the one I was considering?

I'm near that temp you are contemplating and the Scatter Pistol is by far the best weapon I have seen or used. With that weapon and temp you can be a very effective BH

yes, and while your at it grab a laser rifle with nice sac and at least over 1000 max dam and you should be set. this way you can swich to a laser rifle while kiting and keep you distance. then once the jedi gets back in range switch back to the ol' scatter.
hope that helps ![]()

You can get a Gorax enhanced FWG5 made that can be SAC PuP'd to 45 that has max damage in the mid 900's. It has a CL54 requirement. It's what I use and I can spam my damage specials until the fambas come home.

I was under the impression that with so little Ranged Accuracy (140 or so) that my minimum damage will come into play much more often than my max due to mitigations. I have yet to see an FWG5 that has over 400 minimum damage and I feel as though the 900+ on the above Scatter is a nice compromise for the increased minimum.

It seems you already know your pistols. Fire away then!

this is my template and i'd agree that usually the best pistols you're going to find are going to be scatters. remember to keep a rifle on your hotbar so when they try to run away you got that extra range
i also like to bust mine out once i feel i've gotten them to the point i think they're about to drop i'll whip it out and try and finish them with a crit, mine is like 700-1250 with a damage pup, but my sac is 108 so i can't exactly use it for very long

How many shards would the FWG5 require?

Can someone actually confirm for me that a higher minimum damage will be more effective against a Defensive Jedi than maximum damage?
