My template: MBH, MCM, Carb 0400

This weekend I decided to start hunting some jedi as before I was only doing NPC missions trying to get better loot, but latelythe loot seems really rare now. I would do like 50 missions and get 1-2 CA's and they wouldn't be that good. But anyways on to my jedi stories.

I usually would pick the highest paid jedi missions (48-50k) and begin to hunt.

I tracked this one jedi to Naboo so I ported into Kaadara and low and behold he was right there, fighting another player whom they were in a guild war. He was fully buffed and they were bouncing back and forth with the heals, etc. They eventually ran outside and towards the beaches of Kaadara so I followed with a bit of a distance. After seeing the jedi go lower on health to about 30%, I burst run towards him and KD, Leg shot, Crit...and immediatelyhe healed and ran into the water. I did another Leg shot / Crit and incapped him while he was swimming. I made the mistake of not trying to tripple incap him, but instead I swam out to give him a DB, but right as the timer was almost done he recovered. So he continues to swim and swim. I left the water and caught up with him later. Attacked him again ashe was fully regenedand we fought and fought for about 15 minutes. My dots were tearing him up badly but he kept healing and healing. Finally he starts running again and leads me into a building into a small room which (stupid me) I followed and bam bam bam bam. His saber was beating me badly as he got me in a corner but I had plenty of stims and mind and was able to wear him out. I finally got him incapped and delivered the DB.

225k payout.

He sends me the hate tells saying "I wasn't ready", and the "the only reason you won Brax is because I didn't have all my force".

My next jedi hunt I tracked one to Lok and he was fighting gurks with a full group. I must have biked too close because he took off in his bike. I waited for a little bit, and then took off after him as my droid kept updating his waypoint. Finally I get closer and see him at the top of one of the tallest mountains showing "LD". What?! Did he /quit out thinking he would exit the game immediately? This can't be a full template. They should know better. Needless to say I hit him with 5 shots and incap, then DB. 220k payout!! Umm hahah. What an idiot! Wasn't a FULL template but he was almost there.

I was dumfounded as to why anyone would /quit out of the game thinking they would disappear. Later I got hate tells from him saying how I exploited and killed him because he logged out. I told him that his stupidity was not my problem and ended the conversation with that.

The next few jedi hunts I had were great battles but they kept on running away saying "I'm done. You win." They were out of force and ran away using force run and I couldn't keep up. Very very frustrating when they would run away and I can't catch them.

These were just a few of the hunts I did all weekend.

Needless to say I killed about5 jedi out of 8 and didn't die once. The other 3 ran. I have a few questions regarding some of this:

1 - I really don't want to give up my carbine as I love it, but I am getting tired of them running away. Should I change my template and get Pistols 0004 instead of Carbs 0400? I would have to use a pistol instead because my stats would take a major hit using a carbine with Pistols 0004. Any thoughts?

2 - Every single fight I won was because they had no force left, but I thought MCM's were good at wearing the jedi's mind out because of Traumatize. I NEVER was able to do this. They just keep healing and healing and healing. Is there something I'm doing wrong? I want to make them not be able to heal anymore using the CM debuffs. Any advice?

Thanks for reading this long post.

When your fighting the jedi, check if he has "force Aura", and "force valor". If he has boththese, drop the mission becuase you wont be able to kill him.

Every jedi that I encountered must have had a force aura macro, because as soon as it wore off it came right back. I fought them with force aura on and was able to kill them, it just took a little while. Longest fight was about 30 minutes.

Can you answer my 2 questions above? Thanks much!

1. Personally i would go for the root.

2. Depending on the jedi's template, he/she may run out of force or mind. For instance, a defender doesnt need to heal as much but burns force faster through aura/valor. An enhancer on the other hand will be forced to heal more often causing them to burn mind. Hope that helps.

Root is nice to have.. I admit.. but if you have a carbine you are pleased with and is doing a lot of damage, you probally don't want to give it up... unless you pick up a good rifle.

I'm MBH/MDoc and have a rifle that hits for over 500 DPS and i'm not even MR. I used to have Pistols 0004 for root.. and I loved it, not only could I stay out of range when I rooted, but I could do a lot of damage, and when root was about to be over, KD them and by that time is almost time to root again... or you can pick up the snare line in carbineer and root them, kd when root is over, then snare and slow them, by that time root should be ready to go again and they aren't going to be doing much running.

Yea I love the carbine, but it's tough when they run. My CM snare lasts a good 2 minutes or so, but they still sometimes get away with their FR3. The problem is if I drop Carb 0400 and pick up Pistol 0004, then I will HAVE to use a pistol otherwise my accuracy and defenses take a huge hit. I did the numbers on them earlier and it makes a huge difference. I have a decent Featherweight FWG5 Pistol so maybe I'll just suck it up and start using pistols.

With using Carb 0400 and my carbine my base accuracy (without SEAs/Foods) is 200.

With using Pistols 0004 and a pistol my base accuracy (without SEAs/Foods) is 140.

I still miss quite a bit using carb 0400 and my elite carbine when jedi's have aura on. I hit probably 1 out 5-6 shots, unless I drink pyro but that only lasts a minute. So if I switched to pistols, my accuracy goes down even further.

Not sure what to do. I think the battles last as long as they do because the jedi has aura on and I miss half the time.

Frustrating sometimes.

MDefenders are exceptionally hard to kill if using aura/valor macros. I don't even bother using /trauma on them bc they don't need to heal much at all. My defender encounters always last 30-55 mins at a time. Bad thing is that you almost never hit them and they don't need to use their mind at all, but the good thing they usually don't have FR3. Also, macroing aura/valor takes away a good deal of force over time. It makes it much easier to stay out of range when using the CM snare.

Just out of curiousity. Are you using carb 0400 or pistol 0004 dabbler with your MBH, MCM template?

Pistol 0004. I use a Featherweight FWG with 369-966 dmg, 1.8 spd, +65 accuracy, and 65 SAC roughly along with /thyroid, /electrolyte, and /trauma as my debuffs.

Cool. I think I might change to Pistols 0004. I'm going to have to get a bunch of General Ranged Accuracy and Pistol Accuracy CA / AA's to make up for the lost accuracy. That's the biggest problem I believe is missing alot. Jedi fights would be over so much faster if we could actually hit 9 out of 10 shots.

Do you find yourself missing alot with your pistol? What AA, CA's do you use? What foods do you use?

Thanks.

I am capped on pistol speed SEAs, but only have +5 general speed. I have +16 in pistol ACC, and use a pre-nerf PSG with +10 General Ranged Acc. Even with crispic I miss quite a bit. With valor and aura going I will usually miss 7-8 out of 10 shots still. Basically with defenders you just have to let them wear their force out trying to kill you, so I just use the CM snare, thyroid, and duelist to minimize dmg taken.
