Thread: Did i just exploit or...?
I get a jedi mission, find he's on Tatooine, go there, and chase him around for about an hour (stalking, waiting for right moment etc etc). The finally i find him in Anchorhead and he sits down, so i thought that would be my best chance (plus i couldn't be a**ed to wait any longer...). i pull out my bomb droid and proceed to shoot him, just before he dies he heals and we run off to just outside anchorhead, where the fight lasts for a good 10 minutes more (or so, i didn't look at the clock...).
After those 10 minutes we're still both good, but i had to go have dinner, and wanted to save his mission for later (or try, decided that if i couldn't run away i would just drop it anyway). So, i run into anchorhead and just before i reach the cloner there i stop attacking (no longer is my gun pointing at him trying to shoot through walls...). However, just as i pass the cloner the door opens and i find theres no red wall in my way, i figure that because i stopped trying to attack that i can go in, so i do, go downstairs and log out.
I log in about 30 minutes later after my (very nice, in fact) dinner and find that the jedi in question has emailed me stating that he has reported me for exploiting. At this point i am dumbfounded and try to tell him back but he's offline, so i dropped him a mail asking what i did wrong.
However, after a bit more thought, i realise that mabye, the jedi couldn't get into the cloner due to TEF or something, which i gather, must look a lot like i was exploiting. Is it exploiting? Or just a bug? Or neither in fact?
LOLLLLL
Sounds to me like an old fashioned Jedi story in reverse. i.e. Jedi gets attacked by a BH and then runs for the safety of his house where the BH can't touch him.
The answer to your question is probably a "yes"....but, damn if it isn't funny hearing about a Jedi having the tables turned on them ![]()
So-aCK
MBH/MPistoleer
now .. if this jedi wants to insist that logging out in a cloner because you could enter it then exit the game safely without him being able to kill you is an exploit then any jedi doing the same with that or ANY STRUCTURE THAT BH TEF DOES NOT APPLY TO *COUGH GCW BASES* would also be an exploit.

lol. If everyone got wrist smaked for being accused of exploiting in this game. No players would be online.
Ugh, you killed me while I was loading, I am reporting you for exploiting~!!
OH man, loadkilling in space is everywhere.
I've even done it without realizing I was (long story, that one)
But dude, you were logging off anyway, it isn't like you were just seeking temporary sanctuary (there...is...no...sanctuary...)
You were getting away to a place you could log off without getting ganked.
The tables do indeed turn.
Mwahahahahaha
With a little editing, and a better ending, say you logged back on to find the Jedi had just cloned and killed him as he came out of the clone tank, this would deserve to be in the decietful thread.
You did something you would normally try to do, and the game let you do it.
You didn't spend hours tweaking macros and crossing server boundaries to get it "just right."
If Master Exploiter/Master Whiner isn't the most popular Jedi template, I'd like to know what is.
In fact, it was nothing to do with TEF.
In game, i ran into the cloner, went down the lift found a corner and logged off.
On his screen i ran into the wall, dissapeared and found he sitll had me targeted...underneath him.
Apparently, he didn't realise there was a lift to go downstairs in the cloner, and so thought i had exploited to get inside the floor *shrug*.
We proceeded to duel later and spent a while talking after i had explained what had really happened
