Thread: Update for Jedi-Guide for soling a Jedi knight with MCM/MBH/pistoleer 0004
Right not most people say they can't be solo'ed, well they certainly can. Here's how
From the BH’s perspective
I don't usually sneak around I just run in shooting. Get a buff eat mind and action food + Booster blue. Ride up close on bike as fast as I can 64 m for meand hop off and store right away. Then open up with kd and crit / QUICKDRAW (no dots yet as they will break paralyse). While opening up with these three attacks lower the range by walking towards the jedi(I start with a rifle and drop to pistol at 40m for less action cost with a sac'ed pup. Once you get within melee range Paralyse, then thyroid (most important skill), snare and if you get the chance trauma (if not make sure youapply this state). Thenkd, crit shot and torso shot (bleed)and the jedi's speed, movement (possibly forcing him to keep fr on and draining force) and mind regen are almost nothing.
So now you have a jedi hurting, and debuffed, now for the dots. Now Stop shot and apply fire and poison dots. Now you problem here would be if the jedi has root and a good saber. If this should happen get steak in you fast (low fill stuff to mitigate damage), eat melee defence foodand apply dualist stance (ride it out). If the jedi doesn't have root then you should be able to hold off the range for a while. Should he not have fr or root he one dead jedi usually (love fighting MD, MLS, healer 3000, enhancer 0002). NOW remember guys its not about force now, its about mind. Forget about running his force out (it is possible but not as effective) GO for the mind as killing a jedi's health to 0 is almost impossible to do by nuking damage now. If you can keep up the damage and the dots the jedi will have to heal and with trauma will eat his mind fast. Once jedi's mind is lowered to 0 he can't heal and is one dead jedi.
Now during this remember to keep foodsand most importantly states applied. I use ruby bile for these close encounters and root moments and when the states run out use burst run (if not already used) to run in and state straff. Also if you have room in your guts pup a dueterium pyro when the jedi is on about 1/2 or 1/4 health kd and batter that jedi. Often lag stops the jedi healing or you kill him before he has cleared his combat queue and he dies there and then.
Ok one point to add here. RUBY BILE is bugged and often dropped mid combat. Now this often fills you up with drink and stops you drinking any more. This is vital and a bug that needs to be fixed as it should last 16-20 mins and it dropped as 2 uses usually.
All in all this tactic works for me and i've solo'ed many knights. Only ones that give me a problem is the ones with perfect sabers that hit me for 936 a pop and 1500 with armor break applied.
From the Jedi’s perspective (Assuming he’s going to use the above tactic)
Ok so your fighting a MCM in combat he has had first strike on you and you in an area of pikets, whatta you do? First thing is heal (if damaged) recover from kd and run out of the lair (if you use fr2 or above remember to turn it OFF). At this point if you group is any good they’ll have dragged the mobs off you and stop them hitting you any further.
Next KD/stasis the BH with either saber throw, saber sweep or relevant force power. This part is important as it will enable you to eat foods and prepare in the seconds he/she is kd’ed. Foods to use are Veybrok (block food), pikatta (dodge), melee and ranged defence food (can’t remember name) and some mind food and spice (you pick which one suits you)
KEEP THEM ALL ON ANOTHER TOOL BAR IN THE ORDER YOU EAT THEM! Ok bh gets up and first thing he’s going to do is paralyse you if he’s any good. Just accept it and get paralysed and debuffed, nothing you can do about it to a point as you need to get into melee range to fight. So you get debuffed, and the fight opens out, what next?
Well this is where your individual template takes preference (I can’t really give advice for all jedi here), but you’ll need to take advantage of the MCM’s weakness. Firstly his damage potential is lower than that of a riflemam/carbineer/pistoleer. Also the range of skills they have are predominantly going to be the MBH ones so you can begin to predict what the MCM will do. Thirdly MCM attacks are slow and have high cooldown timers and we can take advantage of this. Fourth point is that a MCM/MBH has very little weapon accuracy and speed compared to other master ranged professions. Finally MCM skills are also very mind dependant and after the first paralyse, debuff and dot session the MCM is at his most vulnerable.
These weakness apparent now what tactics are best to use.
1) Well always use kd’s at the right point, that’s important. There is nothing more devastating to a mans tactics than a timely kd. Best points are to kd a mcm has to be once he’s used a stim D (difficult to spot but if he heals and doesn’t use any mind that’s the point) as a MCM can’t use the professions healing abilities on his/her back like a jedi can. This applies with any type of BH!
2) If you have it FR1 and root are you best friends fighting a MCM as the snare that a MCM puts out lasts for 2-3 minutes. Once rooted hit the MCM with a number of saber hits or offensive jedi skills (lighting chock etc etc) and when the root is about to wear off THEN KD. Reasoning behind this is that some MCM’s will panic and use their stims or healing straight away, it also maximises damage while rooted and once root vanishes he’s still kd’ed at the end. Finish with power attack! IF he’s still standing at the end he’ll be sure to of used a lotta mind,
3) Sap a MCM. Probably no need to say anymore than it lowers mind regen and action.
4) Carry other foods like poison cures, and fire blankets (not sure if only docs can use these) and if there’s water near run to it to heal the fire. Powers jedi can naturally use their skills to negate poison but not fire. Be sure to make sure you have room to eat these foods.
One point here though is that its best to use poison and fire resistant foods not cures. AS once you cure it a MCM will just dot you again and you’ll end up filling yourself with food.
5) REMEMBER to heal. I’ve killed many a MDEF because he though I wasn’t hitting him at all but he didn’t take into account the dots
6) If you get onto a speeder and ride you can’t heal and the dots will still hurt you !!!. IF the bh catches up he kd’s you its all over!
A lot of these tips are best to use against any BH and not particularly a MCM one. BUT I’ve tried to highlight certain points that might be of importance. The best advice I can give any pvp’er now is its about mind now not necessarily nuking health. Healing has become a big part of pvp now and MCM’s skills all use a lot of mind to perform. Create tactics to maximise damage and drain mind and your on the right track.
Any other other comments feel free to communicate them
Good luck

Question ... I'm a MBH/MCM/Pistoleer 0004
Would it be worth me investing in Rifles 4000 (sniper shot, head shot and general + rifle accuracy) instead of pistoleer 0004??
Please could someone help me out ?
