Thread: BH On A Streak of Terrible Hunts, Needs Advice

Hey all, I'm new to the forums, this is my first post, but I've been reading them since i got the game two months ago.

After a long and agonizing grind to my current template (MBH/MCM/pistolsxxx3) I finally took my first Jedi missions today. Sadly for me, of the 5 mission where I actually engaged the enemy player, I was killed four times, and the other one got to his house.

I was under the impression that my template was very adequete in dealing even with full temps, yet I think I've only been able to hit the Jedi maybe to 50% before I've been killed. All of the fight have been very quick, the longest lasting maybe 3-4 minutes. I usually start off with a Root and Snare, followed by the chemical fire, and the Thyroid Rupture. By that time they're already on me and casuing me a world of pain, and I soon find myself on the defensive. My weapons are pretty good, a sliced Proton carb with a DPS in the high 480s, and a HC Scatter Pistol with about the same. I've been wearing a set of unsliced Comp armor.

It's just really frustrating after that long grind to have nothing to show for it after 5 Jedi missions. Am I just having bad luck with the Jedi I get? Or is it the way in which I use my attacks? Or could it be the armor, and if so, which set would I be best suited for?It sometimes looks as if I'm not even dealing them a respectable ammount of damage.

Before anyone asks, I usually have a full set of buffs, along with mind, health, and action food/drink buffs. It makes a minor difference.

Advice is welcome, and I'm open to constructive criticism! Thanks.

I recommend investing in a set of armour break sliced high energy resist armour. This will make a hugely noticeable difference to the damage you take. Put your DOTs and debuffs on but don't forget to keep hitting adv crit and some other high damage shot to keep them healing, knock downs too. This is what will kill them in the end. Their mind and force will be used up healing themselves. Also try and keep your own mind up with booster blue canape etc but try and use stims too with Ruby Bliel as they don't use mind and can give 1200 heals. Can't believe I'm advising the enemy!!!

Wakey wakey, if your wearing unsliced comp armor, you may as well fight naked. as for your gun dps = nothing, whats important is SAC, max dmg and attack speed.

  • KD

  • Paralyze

  • Thyroid

  • Traumatize

  • Elect Drain

Make sure you are using Enhancers from a BE on all the CM dots you can. After your last item above, the jedi should be getting up. Apply the damage dots then start beating on them. Shoot and scoot....try and stay out of melee range so they hit you less.

You can't win every fight, but you can avoid most losses by picking your fights and walking away from the ones where you see no advantage or surprise is totally lost. Never give them a fair fight if you can help it.

Last bit of advice is, buy or hunt CA/AA's to improve Acc and Speed on weapons and then your CM abilities.

it sounds to me your armour is your killer and never start with a root. your a cm start with a KD make sure u dont have an auto attack on that will brake your parlyze. once parlysed get all your dots on, after that its just a question of keeping them healing and keep your self healed with heals n stims, unless there usinga pre cu or uber saber, with ab sliced recon armour u shoudl be able to keepup with heals for quite a while, use booster blue, mind managment is eveythign for your template.

I feel your pain as I finally got my first kill yesterday. Don't get down on yourself, it takes plenty of practice. Soon you will start picking your terrains where you want to engage from. You will eventually get in a routine where you know exactly the specials you want to use and when to use them. It all takes time.

If you don't have 8K Energy resist armor that is sliced for Armor Break I adivse you do that before you take another Jedi mission. I fought with standard Ubese and was getting clobbered. Like an above poster said, my as well fight naked. Finally, I shelled out 1.5 mill for an 8K Energy resist Black Ubese Suit. I paid over a mill for the SHock Paddings to have it sliced and found a Smuggler willing to slice for free. 2.5 mill credits later I had an 8K Energy Resist Suit, sliced for Armor Break, and an Energy PSG on top of it. Now, my fights last a very long time. I pride myself on being very patient and waiting for my enemy to make a mistake. Some of my fights last over 30 minutes now. It is great. I still need to get a couple more kills under my belt but now more than ever I konw how my template works and when to use what specials. You get this experience by being in a long fight. A 3-4 minute fight won't teach you much on how to hunt Jedi. Give yourself a fighting chance and get the sliced energy resist armor. Trust me on that one.

Also, like the above poster said, you are a MCM so keep debuffs/DOTs on him at all times. You are not going to win the fight with a couple shots so be patient, don't panic. Throw some debuffs/DOTs, use your specials, if yourAction is running low (it shouldnt, eat regen foods) then use your default attacks. Put the pressure on him. Keep healed up and keep dealing damage. Use StimDs and Ruby Biel. Even if you are rooted dont panic, make sure you are healed. I foght a Jedi that rooted me constantly (well whenever the timer allowed) but by the time he rooted me and ran up to me he would get a couple shots in before the timer was up. I would try a KD right away and if that didn't work I'd Bacta Shot. I knew I would get hit so my as well keep my health up to stay alive. Don't panic like I said. That just leads to button smashing and not thinking clearly.

I am no expert, there are a lot of BHs here who have a lot mroe experience than me. But as a new comer like you I feel like I have some good tips to share as I have just went through the headaches you did jsut recently.

I have no trouble with these at all MBH MP CM4XXX.

It just takes time. Use Knockdown and debuffs. Armor changes can help but I just stick to High Energy Recon. Doc/food buffs can help. If you have High Kinetic Armor and his gun is hurting you. Try moving into them as many will melee and some really suck at melee compared to Ranged.

You gear is everything if you have High SAC gun you might not be able to kill a 32k mob. Bleed them and pepper them with damage (wittle them down).

A Jedi with 32HAM would be a tough kill.
