What do you plan on doing with this Armor? If you'll be hunting Jedi then you'll want to get something with higher Energy resists if you're certified for something other than Assault Armor. For general PVE/PVP it's actually decent because it offers good all around protection against Kinetic and Energy. I have to admit I favor Kinetic protection in armor because you can always add in Energy resistance with a PSG. This only works with ranged Energy attacks however.

You want ATLEAST 8100 energy to hunt jedi. I found this out the hard way. THought 7k would cut it. HEH

I do pretty good with 7200 resist Battle Armor so I don't see a problem with armor at the 7k level. I do suggest that you Armor Break Slice every piece though if you'll be battling Jedi with it.

Does a PSG of 2100 energy stack with 8100 energy armor? I thought the cap was 10,000?

Well I do remember Han having a one piece suit made out of carbonite but it weighed a ton. Still it didnt require any ironing and was very wear resistant.

Yes it will stack. The PSG actually acts as an additional layer rather than adding to your total Energy resistance.

There is a 3.5% difference in 8100 armor over 7100 armor. So on a 1000 point hit you would take 35 more damage wearing 7100 armor. Not that big a deal. But if you take 30 hits per minute 30 * 35 = 1050 damage or basically a stim D difference per minute. It does add up. PSG's are good for general PvP and PvE but useless against Jedi. They onlymitigate againstRANGED ENERGY attacks.

It stacks, but you can't add numbers to know how damage reduction is calculated

and PSG only protect from RANGED attacks -> Light sabers are melee attacks
