Thread: A long overdue makeover of the bounty hunter profession please

Getting more loot is one thing, Thanks SOE it really has helped us get a bit richer but I think you are missing the point becoming a bounty hunter should not only be about loot the idea of a bounty hunter is one thing yes you guessed it PVP and a pvp against a Jedi can be really fun, but lets face it only a small amount of bounty hunters are successful in that area and only a low percent of the time a fully spec Jedi is on the whole no mach for a bounty hunter. As a profession bounty hunter has great partensal that’s why the great idea of a “bounty hunter grind” or “bounty hunter academy” you could learn new skills here are a few examples I think would be good 1, a force drain shot 2, a surprise attack shot (stunning you opponent for a set time so he can not heal and attack) I know we have then already but one that is in the template on a bounty hunter grind has the possibility to be a real killer 3, a bounty hunters heal or force immunity, stims and ruby bile works well but lets face it a Jedi with avoid incap on can stand for a long time with no health at all in the same situation a bounty hunter is incapped and slain 4, a retreat or duck out option (Jedi have clock so why not us) also a de-clock Jedi as part of the same skill Lets face it once you have done the theme park content is missing from the game a bounty hunter academy could add so much content and give a real alternative to the village here is a few ideas of the academy 1, make different one for different factions imp rebble and neutral all in different places 2, start a bounty hunter ranking like a force one with pvp mission being the only way to progress to the next level or rank 3, make people of the opposite factions that are doing the bounty hunter grind possible targets by being able to get there mission make it so you can only take on people of you same rank or higher and that are taking on pvp missions so not to drag peps into pvp that are not ready or don’t want to take part in it 4, the ability to get mando armour as a reward for bounty hunter progress make the armour none decay, bio linked none tradable (really keeping too rare is silly and I think a outdated idea from the early days of the game) If anyone has any more ideas please post them I would love to here more of what you have to say also I think that no Jedi should go on the terms until he is a combat level 80 once again Death to the empire May the rebbles live forever

A very long and chunked paragraph about the BH profession, but I certainly understand where you are coming from. BH as a profession is really suffering currently and requires a complete overhaul to fix it. Currently BHing is taking hours just to locate a target, while most targets are full template when it does happen. I think a lot of Bounty Hunters are struggling with being effective and even if they are effective, the effort and wait time to locate a target is enough to make someone turn away from the profession alone. We at SS have been dedicated to help Bounty Hunters become more effective, while at the same time add our own content to help improve the BH experience. Something must be done overall; will it happen? It isn't looking too optimistic currently.

You do realize that before player bounties were introduced, bounty hunters actually did PvE, right? Not every bounty hunter wants to PvP. If your post had more to say, sorry...apparently my comprehension of your language is similar to a freshly created twilek trying to understand a wookie.

In the one post, among other crap you asked for:



  • a force drain shot (lol, that was just too funny)

  • a surprise attack shot (stunning you opponent for a set time so he can not heal and attack (oh, you want your marks to just stand there and do nothing, lol.)

so basicly you want "A long overdue makeover of the bounty hunter profession please". I take it you weren't BH pre-cu when it was the worst combat proff. or overa year ago when it needed master marksmans/master scout. Bounty hunter is now the most powerfull non-jedi profession in the game.


theres only 1 thing you need. some basic pvp skills, cos you clearly suck.


sad thing is in resent months this game has been flooded with noobs like you, They all want absolute power now and have no patience to work towards the goal. I see BH that want jedi totaly nerfed cos they have no pvp skills, i see jedi that want pre-cu sabers nerfed cos theirs suck.

If that's what you think you are; 1. in the wrong guild 2. in the wrong proffession

and the challenge to being a BH is what after that?


Lets face it once you have done the theme park, content is missing from the game.

To what end? a BH does not discriminate on his marks. Hell i'd shoot Vader, Jabbaand Mon Mothma for creds.

A good sound idea, but what reward does it give?


3, make people of the opposite factions that are doing the bounty hunter grind possible targets by being able to get there mission. Make it so you can only take on people of you same rank or higher that are taking on pvp missions


I'm up for that but you would be crying about it on these forums right after you've been sent to the cloner.

Sorry dude, i'd hate to pull your post apart, but alot of that is a rant from where i'm sitting, Learn your proffession, keep your rifle warmed up and good luck. If you were on my server i'd spend a little time with you showing you how to play the game (as i do with most BH's in my Guild because practice makes perfect).


If an experienced BH on his server would oblige that would be a nice gesture.

Agreed .... ... go read up 1st ... and learn the profession. Its hard for every new player.... U wont be the first noob to find it difficult
