Just finished testing out the "new/improved" AI on TC and here's what I got...

A level 81 single chevron mark.

During the course of the fight she unloaded on me with 12 different specials. Reading the combat spam I discover that in order for *me* to get access to all these specials, I'd have to invest about...308 skill points. Hmmmm...

The mark in question used attacks from Master Marksman, Master Brawler, Carbineer x43x, Pistoleer 4x13, Fencer xxx4, Pikeman 1xxx, and Master Swordsman. And the skill point estimate i added doesn't include the CoB and Duelist stance that I saw boot up since I didn't have time to see which levels were used.

What this boils down to is you get rooted, armorbroken, kd'ed, critical'ed, power attacked, bled, snared when you try to root and run...and so on. When you *do* manage to get away, the mark just whips out a pistol and goes to town. In short, it's like fighting a jedi with a mediocre saber.

When I finally put this one down, I look at my cash status and realize that I'm still grouped with my squad leader and only get paid half...some days it just doesn't pay to leave the house for contract killings...

Now granted, this is on TC where the best gear I can come up with is a Proton Carb and Clone Armor on MBH/Mcarb/Pistol xxx3. So this wasn't done with the stuff I've got access to on Live but I've seen a lot of people hunting bounties with this or worse. This may need some tweaking. I'm curious to see how bad the double chevrons are... =)

i got money saying that if you report the bugs, in game, and in teh issues thread that they will not be observed. i do believe that npcs using specials should be restricted to a basic template. ie: m.pistol m.marks or m.brawler tkm etc.

it shouldnt any special in the game.

Ok, I finally found one of those lovely double chevron guys. I'm not going to bother boring you with the details of what professions the mark had, needless to say, it was unbalanced.

For the first time since late July of '03 I went to the cloner because of a mark. Again, this is on test so I'm not hunting with the greatest stuff. Then again, I don't *use* my best gear to hunt marks on live. I don't see the point in using a million credit suit of armor to tank an npc that's going to net me 30k cash, a jar of bugs, and a schematic that's no good to me.

34k Ham, and raw hits up to 1450, on a creature that regens a LOT faster than I do, with a range of specials and states greater than my own. I don't know about you folks, but I've killed full template jedi easier than these. Guess what? Jedi pay better too...

that's why the NPC is level 81, and we are only 80

i dont mind them using specials...im all for it...but it should be under the same rules we are...debuffs are a waste of time to use on those marks...so half of Combat Medic is rendered useless...

rofl, they use CoB and Duelist stance.

Hmmm, these may actually cause me to start using two hands when I do BH missions now lol.

If Devs are truely making the Marks use every special I hope they start to code Jedi NPC's we can hunt. Talk about a good practice run.......hell they even retreat like a lot of jedi

I had a funny feeling the targets would end up being way overpowered. I'm hoping this doesn't make it to live.... but chances are it will.

I had a Pistoleer Carbine target the other day on Bloodfin. He really took me off guard... Disarming shot then Crit Shot for the KD. I couldn't get up thanks to Disarming shot (didnt even get the Cant KD recover while KD msg) just couldnt get up.

Grieving the forums, more fun than playing the game
And it loads faster too!

Looks like I'll actually have to put her in the crib now.
