I am a MBH/MCarb/CM4000 and have been able to easily take any lvl 82 30+k mark, with my foods ect... at least it was easy a week ago. I hadn't played since and meanwhile read in the forums post-publish, that the marks suddenly got harder. So tonight I pull a lvl 82 single silver chevron 19k ham dude, which in the past was easy, well the guy almost killed me and took me like 10 min to kill. Then on my way back to starport (I was on Yavin) I run across 3 black suns. This is the first time I have ever found any. So I was really excited and got fully buffed up. Then I successfully pull just one from the crowd and the dude mauls me with 1000k hits and I hardly have time to dent him because I'm healing the whole time... I died a total of 4 times and decided to call it quits. Anyway, to my question... were black sun always this tough, or is it because of the npc revamp in the publish? Thanks for input.

yeah they got alittle boost in AI since the update... i havent faught one since the update myself, but a freind of mine was out killing them a few days ago and said they had a noticable upgrade.

guess ill have to go back to kiting just the henchman now that the ranged BS can actually do some damage instead of spamming lethal shot at me, lol.

Besides the change in AI where they use specials, anything over CL80 has increasing defenses too. Fought a CL84(?) Black Sun and he was harder to hit than a TKM. At least half, if not more, of my roots just plain missed him. I was luckier with my snares however.

One thing I noticed though, NPC's below CL80, including NPC Marks, seem to stay in ranged combat more easily. Where the guys at 80+ will rush you and slap on an AB and a couple other melee states at every opportunity.

Was able to solo one after pub24, though I had to use my droid and was lucky enough to pull just him. Once another one joins in though best just to run if you're alone unless you're one mean mofo.

The three I found were an assassin, a thug, and a guard? they were lvl 88, 88, and 86. Can anyone give me pointers on killing these things, or general lvl 82 bounties for that matter? I'm MBH, MCarb, CM 4000 and I usually kd them, then spam adv crit and imp leg shot, with a bleed thrown in and now that they rush me I was throwing in snares. Part of my problem was that my Carb is rng 50 and when I was kiting I kept running out of my range, but was still in the black sun's (they must be using rifles). Food wise I use crispic, thunder...something, and P something that helps with dodge I think, plus brandy, and pixie... Anyone have any suggestions on how to take on these bad boys? Do I need to switch to Mrifle, or would MSquadL be helpful?

They've alwyas been tough, but they are bad mofos after patch 24. I used to be able to solo them no problems, but last time I tried one sent me to the cloner in no time flat. Snare did nothing, knockdown only worked for about a half a second, etc.

They rarely drop loot anyway, so I just wouldn't bother. I mean very very rarely drop anything at all.

I thought the NGE couldn't be any worse than the CU, but I was wrong.

Funny, killed about 30 last night and got a bicep, bracer, and 2 jetpack bases. Main thing to watch out for now is that they are social now so make sure they are 10m or more away from one another and then pull one at a time. The guards and assassins are melee/ranged, henchman are melee only, and thugs are ranged only. Make sure you got some 8k energy armor for the ranged and have plenty of healing. If they get into melee mode KD them quickly and get away, but in the case of the henchman which now armor break, try to keep a wide circle on them as it buys you a lot of time, especially if you have a root, but watch out for snares as everything in the damned game snares now it seems. I'm MBH/MPistol/4xxxCM and it can still be a tough fight, but you basically have to do it with brute force, decent heals, andhave as good of equipment as possible and plan to clone alot now since some of them now DB.

If your any good at kiting then just pull the Henchmen. I can take these without getting hit once. I pull them far enough away from the group to just run them arround till dead then go back and another Henchmen will have respawned.

I was taking 3 on at a time pre pu 24, next day I logged on and tried taking one out 1 on 1 - and I barely made it out without hitting the cloner... they are definately a bit harder.
