Thread: DP-23 Rifle Quest Info and others..

I believe the DP-23 is one of the "cube schematic" weapons. We never did find the correct combination of magical loot for the magical cube to get the schematic in Beta.
People will have it figured out by the end of the day I bet.
We did the math: there are thirty-four *thousand* possible combinations of loot that can be put into the cube, and there is a long, long list of 60+ items that can be put into the cube.
The drop rate is not that frequent.
Figuring it out by the end of the first day... if it happens, it will be because of luck, and the complaint will come: "WTH?!!?! Why can't I trade the schematic to a weaponsmith so he can make it?!? 111!!!1!!eleventy1!!!"
The developers have chosen to make those schematics no-trade, so after the first poor sucker makes the schematic and finds out he can't use it, he'd have to do a favor to the community and publish the 'magic recipie' and then trade the items needed to one of the rare crafters who *did* purchase ToOW.
I love that part...crafting content...just not for crafters. Non-tradeable schematics. Its the first time I HAVE to say the devs screwed up. Other mistakes I have managed to live with and adapt to...this one is just plain stupid. I can't even fathom a reasonable explanation for making the cube and its products no-trade.

QFE
but just an update, most of the no-trade items are now tradeable. They changed it last min. There are a few that are still no trade like the Cube and the cyrstals/holos that give you temporary atributes.
It occours to me that a lot of the info that is spread through the game is in the form of Lore. "I heard from someone that..."
Why doesn't SoE bite the bullet and publish somewhere the shortcut keys? Alt+enter making SWG a borderless window, for example. This also extends to this cube they've put in, which reminds me a lot of D2.
If I take these three diamonds, I can make a better one!

First quest I completed
Q3P0 whatever droid in the Mining Outpost on Mustafar gives you a collection quest. It wasn't really hard. Basically, all you have to do is go to the waypoint he gives you, click on the droid parts there for an update. From there you get a different set of waypoints with 2 piles of junk to be clicked. (In the BS/Jedi NPC spawn area) Upon returning to the droid you receive:
Sith Holo
2 hour uses
Immunity to Armorbreak for a short period of time at the cost of your max health.
Booyah!
Haven't tested it yet so dunno how much health is used or the duration. Very good item. It makes you IMMUNE.
Actually there was supposed to be a Jedi NPC that spawns to attack you. Of course there's no obligation to stay there and fight him rather than just hop on your speeder and ride off laughing. Actually, if these guys are as strong as they were in Beta, I'd recommend riding away rather than engaging. He is immune to +Root+ and uses a wide array of special moves. If he hasn't been changed from Beta though he also doesn't have KD Recovery so he can be killed pretty easily with KDs. I think his name was something like Trinity Assassin.
Yes, most of the rewards and cube items are now tradeable, *but*....
Back at the end of Beta, one of the developers posted that they were *not* making the schematics from the Cube tradeable items. The development teamdeliberately made the choice to force crafters to either get the items needed to make the schematic by tagging along with a combat group and dying a lot, *or* spend far more credits than necessary to buy the magic loot items in order to generate the schematic themselves.

Then they laughably called that a 'balance' between combat and crafting.
jeebus. if that's the case then they should've made the cubes ONLY useable by crafters so that non-crafter combat-types won't accidentally put so much effort into making an object only to find out it's a schematic that he cannot use, nor trade.
