lol. You're funny. I think that's widely known though, isn't it? I like the story where he is still chasing Han Solo after like 20-30 years, and their both all crotchety and old. With artitis and knee pains, etc. Fett is still the man in that story, but he ultimately gets Solo in his sights, and lets him go. He's got a change of heart! Not because he thought it was wrong to pull him in, but because part of his life's work was chasing Solo down, and if he brings him in, then that part of his life would be over. It humanized him very nicely!
If you listen to the episode 2 commentary george lucas states that "I would have never killed him off had I known he would become so popular"
However in the "Expanded universe" he does survive the ordeal, its detailed at www.starwars.com

Was he referring to Boba Fett or Jango Fett? Boba is infamous in Star Wars lore, but Jango has a HUGE fan base as well..... And he was beheaded in Episode II.
