This seems to work for me regularly, call out 3 probe droids one after the other in the following manner, track target, track target, identify target. That seems to work almost always. If not, take the advice of poster about and get to witin 1000m.

I do almost the same thing, but it works just as well for me to send one on track and one on identify.

I have been wasting seeker after seeker trying to get marks names after the patch. So far I got 1 name and blew over 20 seekers. Anyone else having this problem with the droids? Once my probot tells me the planet I go there and launch a seeker. It just gives me 1 waypoint and no name. Really pissing me off because I dont know who I am after and need to fly by them to find out.

Multiple seekers never seems to work for me. I usually get within 1000M and get the name then without fail.

Actually as far as I can tell in my testing, the distance it works at is about 2.5k.
