Hi everyone, I've just started out as Bounty Hunter and after reading a couple guides, I still have some questions:

- Which additional skilltree works best? Personally I'd like to hunt down Jedis, that's why I became a BH. I'll most likely go hunting creatures too, but Jedis and PvP are my priority. For that purpose, which skilltree(s)would you recommend? Perhaps you could alsostate whichtemplate you play yourself andwhether you are satisfied with it, where you are very strong and in which situations you have problems sometimes? That would beinterestingto know, I'd be very grateful

- I'm a novice BH and I'm trying to do my very first BH mission..the guide in this forum says I need to use droids to find my target, so I've bought one, but when attempting to use it (it's one of these Aarakyyd thingies), it says I'm lacking the skill.. whatskill do I need to operate that droid? Is there perhaps a different droid I could use at this level?

- When accepting the mission, a target waypoint shows up on my screen in white color, the target being about 8800m away from me. ButtheWPdoesn't show up on the planetary map, and itcompletelyvanishes when I use a shuttle towardsone of thepossible destinations. Is that a bug or am I just not allowed to use a shuttlein this case?

- About weapons: Do the special abilities and boni from weapon skill trees count towards those granted by the BH skills? Are the special BH weapon attacks better/equal or weaker than the ones in the various weapon skill trees? I am trying to figure out which weapon to use and whether or not to specialize in an additional weapon tree. So far I'm master marksman and have collecteda couple rifle skills.

I know that's lots of questions and perhaps they've been answered before somewhere, but I've already read a couple guides and couldn't find good answers..

I just desperately need different point of views here, from active players, and the ability to take their template into account, rather than just havinga singlepoint of view froma (possibly outdated) guide, where the authors rarely state their owntemplate and how well it works out for them in which type of situations.

Flavor of the month skill tree is MBH/MCM. Then most either pick up Rifle 4000 or Pistol 0004.

You are only level 0 investigation, you can only use seeker droids as far as i know at that level. Buy a seeker and your mark should be on the same planet as you. Little tip, if you are in a guild or have a nice friend willing to help go find some faction base forward out posts and slice the terms. With an inspiration buff you will get like 1100pts BH exp per slice and the forward outposts are easy. Just have your friend run in and train out all the NPC's and you run in and slice it. You will be done with investigation in no time.

Not sure about the target waypoint. You shouldnt get the way point until your droid comes back. Only time I have had issues with a way point is when I am grouped it will poof. If this is the case you can always go into your data pad and make sure the mission is still "activated."

If you were a shark would you eat people?

To hunt jedi you need a minimum of master BH. Also the most effective template appears to be some version of combat medic with one of teh other ranegd profs mixed.

Not sure, been a long time since I was novice

No clue what this is all about..

Bounty Hunter gives a lot of general ranged accuracy and general ranged speed. These will all work whenever you have a ranged weapon equipped. Also, all ranged attack specials can be used with any ranged weapon. So if you were a rifleman/BH, for example, you can alternate critical shot and head shot for your two high damage attacks.

To level investigation, got to Tyrena, Corellia (go on leave if your IMP) go to the BH terminal with the spynet operative just around the corner. Open the BH mission box, but don't click on a mission, leave it open.

Go to the spynet op. and choose a mission from the mission list. Talk to the spynet, and see how close your target is. If he's close, go kill him. If he's way way out, cancel mission, and choose another one as you should still have your mission window open. Rinse and repeat until you have enough for Invest. I AND II.

As for templates, the sky's the limit really. There are FOTM's, but they are in NO way an I win button. Too many people think by just going rifleman, BH, and CM 4000 that they're going to be waxing Jedi left and right..The best thing to do is to experiment with templates and find which one you have fun playing with, then adapt it to killing Jedi. (If that's what you want to do) If you don't, you'll simply get bored or frustrated with your template and want to change it anyway...Why waste the time.

With that said, I love pistols. To me, a BH carries a pistol. Or in my case, 3 stupidly good pistols. I'm a MBH, MP, Carbineer x4xx, and Novice Medic and love it. Just remember with any template, no matter what it is...if you want to kill Jedi, having good equipment is a MUST.

Thanks a lot Guunny

I was looking into Combat Medic already and so far pretty much everyonetold me totrain that..I will probably end up with it, but I just can't help it, I'm not much of a doctor. Is it just "necessary", or actually fun to play? From what I gathered the whole profession would look like.. purchase or create a buff, apply the buff, sometimes resurrect another player, or reapply a buff. That seems to be all that medics (can) do, or am I wrong? Also, CM takes up an awful amount of skill points, it must really be a useful skill tree to be worth that.

Personally I would love to combine BHwith ranger or creature handler, because both professions have some unique features that I would like to play andbe able to do (I know that as for rangers, many things are supposedly bugged, but let's just pretend they were fixed ..

people keep telling me those profs "suck" though.

About slicing - ohh..I thought that was just for smugglers I'll give it a try! (once I find out what tool(s) I need to slice an outpost)

Combat medic is fun, and useful. You dont have to buy anything to apply yourDOTs and debuffs either. Combatr medics can apply a fire, poison, and disease DOT, so that their health gradually decreases, while applying debuffs which reduce movement speed, combat speed, mind regen, and action regen.(may be missing something)

Combat medics basically ahve to wear out their opponents' mind pool until tey cant heal, then turn on the heat with whatever ranged class they chose

Not to mention how useful healign is in jedi combat

*COUGH* *COUGH*

Ranger and MBH does notsuck (I'm MHB & Master Ranger & Squad Leader 0300), but its better for PvE then PvP. I do exteremely well as a Master Ranger paired with MBH when hunting, but PvP\Jedi is a bit tough. For me its fun because I make a TON of credits being a ranger and I can now do NPC missions from time to time to mix things up. It all comes back to your play style and what is fun for you. This works for me and allows me to be one of maybe 10 rangers on the entire server.
